Yes, much more realistic.

Nope.

You have to make it THIS month.

I think I have hi-jacked this thread with all my late replies.

alexandra, how could we resent you? I've never even sent you the first time. close quotes

Open-mouthed

Not you, Robb, but some have... well, you ventured into the self publishing thread?

After writing all that, I'm already thinking that the only advantage I can see is that HC editors might be looking. Marketing wise, I can't see it shifting many books if it's the only sale venue for an author. If I wanted to pod my books, I'd choose a pod house and link them from my publisher site anyway. Can't see the advantage of driving trade here from there, unles it's just to pick up and pay for the product. And there are already pod sites out there for that. The marketing aspect of self publishing is very very important if you want to sell in significant numbers and we already have that set up because we actively drive people looking for our product to our site. I think a lot of pod sites fail to shift books for authors because of the scattergun approach to marketing, or the total lack of targeted marketing.

So, back to authonomy as the place to be seen by HC editors.

My prediction is that Portland Court will get to the top five at the end of March. It will be reviewed. HC will say it's not that good, but it's cover could sell it. And then my life will be changed.

My children are in bed so I can't ask them what an mp3 is. I will find out in the morning and then see if we have one to give you.
