The Sanctum Knights: Five Deadly Elements

David Gilleand

TWENTY YEARS AGO THE WORLD ENDED ON DECEMBER 21ST 2012

TWENTY YEARS AGO THE WORLD ENDED ON DECEMBER 21ST 2012 when three cloaked figures emerged at the footsteps of the Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois. Five years later the world began to rebuild itself, step by step, little by little with the help of three heroes known as The Sanctum Knights. The events that transpired between those two dates caused the world to dramatically change. What humans once were, changed forever. Everybody everywhere began to develop extraordinary abilities. Some abilities were trivial, but most were potentially dangerous if they were obtained by the wrong people, which was the inevitable conclusion.

In the middle of the ocean, a dark character emerged from the water, known only as Salacia - the roman goddess of the sea. With her are Chaos and Tellus. Two more are needed to finish their evil group known as Olympus. Can the Sanctum Knights get to those two before Olympus does? Find out in THE SANCTUM KNIGHTS: Five Deadly Elements

Hi David!

Since you haven’t been to Authonomy for a while, I hope it’s okay that I’m sending this through your book comment:

I’d like to thank you for backing BRAINRUSH (a Thriller) last year. Because of you it hit the Authonomy Number-1 slot, attracted an agent, and landed a film option. Now that’s a brain-rush! The formal book launch is September 1st and the sequel will be released in December. None of this would have been possible without your help. So, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Sincerely,
Richard Bard, BRAINRUSH

PS. If you want a good laugh, check out the temporary book-trailer video on the BRAINRUSH website. It’s there as a placeholder for the upcoming professional video. The current one features children and it’s guaranteed to make you smile! And yes, the younger kid on the screen is really me. You can see the video at www.RichardBard.com. The link is also on my Authonomy profile page. While you’re there, check out the “Feel the Rush” promotion that will get you BRAINRUSH plus 2 FREE thrillers from the Kindle Top-20 PAID Bestseller list – yes, really!

Perhaps a few kind suggestions may help you edit this rough draft into something akin to a book. I suggest that you end a sentence in the same tense you start it. It is easaier on the eyes of your readers, not to mention, their mental states. Avoid redundancies, repeating the same words over and over to gain word count, is not writing.

In your spare time, read a few books. Yes. I have some in mind: On Writing Well, by, William Zinsser; Barron's Essentials of English, any edition, but, the newer the better; Writing for Story, by, Jon Franklin. these books should tell you what is wrong with this story, mechanically. That, [the mechanics] you can fix with a bit of polishing.

The convolution of X-Men meets Mythology, I am afraid can only be fixed with a dose of originality, which, sadly, this story lacks. As I read these chapters, I had a strange deja vu feeling. A sense that I had seen these scenes in a variety of television shows and movies.

This is a subject that interests me no end. I have to plan something good for that night, it's my hubby's birthday. I'll come back and read some more when time allows. Good first chapter.
Best wishes

You have the bones of a good story here. Your writing is evocative annd your characters engaging. Watch where you use digits like 7 instead of the word seven, unless it's a robot designation-type thing. Jim D Serpent's Blood

A fantastic story David. I am not in the business of cprrective criticism, I leave that to others. You will get plenty of advice, good and bad alike. As far as I am concerned, your book is great, it is a definite read for people who like Sci/fi/Fantasy stuff. This story gives me a good feeling, I just hope it gets all the backing it deserves. Good Luck.

Lots of imagination going on here. Love it!

Watch some of your longer paragraphs, it gets tiresome on the eyes. You can make things flow better by breaking up long passages. The writing is good... this (online) just isn't the best platform for reading.

Backed.
