Light Years From Tranquility

Frank Lewandowski

A vast alien war fleet threatens civilization. An interstellar romance is unhampered by the bounds of space and time.

As a hostile alien fleet destroys human space colonies, the populations of inhabited planets become paralyzed with fear, halting human expansion among the stars. Unaware that these events have transpired in his absence, Starship Captain Erik Houston returns to his home planet. Vessels like his travel at almost the speed of light, causing time to drastically slow down aboard ship. Star jumpers are thus turned into time travelers.

Houston can't stop thinking about Zama, that woman from his last mission. She was a planet dweller with whom he had worked under some difficult circumstances. A shocking discovery aboard his ship has led him to question her motives. He nevertheless seeks to get re-assigned to her planet. But instead, the brass sends his crew and he on a high-risk mission against the aliens. The humans face a number of life-threatening trials but some events seem like they were meant to be, as if an unseen hand were guiding things...

Read this sequel to Lewandowski's first novel, Light Years From Paradise.

Although science-fiction is definitely not my cup-a-tea, I must admit 'Light Years From Tranquility' can be pretty involving. Imagivative plot. Well-balanced, coherent structure. Cool read. Indeed.

Dear Frank, I love you imagination - what a combination of Science fiction, romance, & Christian! :) Your story is a good read because you create interest by having short paragraphs & lots of dialogue which makes me want to keep reading & reading to find out what's going to happen next. I'm backing your book. :) Please take a moment to back my TWO Books, ... "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" ... and the UNEDITED version? ... "Tell Me True Love Stories"
Thanks, Susie :)

A look at Sicilian Shadows would be greatly appreciated.
Frank.
If you back my work, you may also want to approach BJD (a big supporter of Sicilian Shadows) for a further read and possible backing of your book.

Thanks, Ron. I appreciate your comments and encouragement. Frank

A very interesting opening chapter. Makes the reader think. Chapter two is man versus women or maybe the other way round.

Chapter three – On leave, recalled for a one way trip, buys a ring. You have all the ingredients for a storm of a story.

I don’t usually read Sci Fi but this is good stuff and I’ve enjoyed reading it.

Overall I thought this was well written, was clear and comprehensible with convincing details and characters.

Thanks, Carl. I appreciate your comments. The first chapter was the hardest to write. I'm glad you found it effective. Frank

This is terrific stuff and with fascinating underlying themes. I think this kind of fiction is extremely hard to pull off effectively and you certainly do that. Well done. Carl. The Time Hunters

I found your first chapter captivating enough to back your book. I'll definitely finish and comment more. I'm just curious, why no faster-than-light travel? This could pose some interesting problems, as implied by the communication delays. I abandoned FTL in my story since I have some theoretical problems with the concept.

Feel free to check out mine!
