Marriage with Christ

John Bahler

A picture of the romance of God and His people, and a vision of the beautiful gift that He has given us in earthly marriage.

"And it shall be in that day, says the Lord, that you shall call me 'My Husband,' and no longer call me 'My Master.'" Hosea 2:16
This is a book for anyone who trusts in his intelligence, but knows deep down that intellect cannot save; or who trusts his own goodness, but knows that his efforts will always fall short.
This is a book for the spiritual man who doubts that he will ever find peace in his life or in his religion. It is a book for anyone who wants to be a good husband.
This is a book for the unprofitable servants of God, who want desperately to call God "my Master", and who are terrified to call him "my Husband." It begins with a look at the true meaning of male and female--and the true meaning of husband and wife--in hopes of eventually getting a glimpse of the beauty of earthly marriage and the meaning of the heavenly marriage between God and His people. God, who created the heavens and the earth, who created male and female, who called them to worship in the beauty of holiness. This is a book about true marriage.

I was fascinated to read this work. I'm not a Christian, but I thought that you write very well and that your book deserved more support on authonomy. I do hope you are still writing
I shall read more, when I get some time.

This book is a step by step guide to better spiritual health. I believe you'll find a wide audience for this if it could be featured in a Christian book store. I'm adding it to my shelf. Burgio (Grain of SAlt).

Marriage With Christ

I think what struck me about this book was how well you have structured it. It has a sense of being very well thought out, and researched isn’t the right word however a depth of knowledge has been portrayed. This is a thoughtful and well-put together book.

Dear John, I love that you are rightly dividing the word of truth. May God give you more books to write & encourage people. :) Your book is a good read because you create interest by having short paragraphs which makes me want to keep reading & reading to find out what's going to happen next. And you use the Bible to back up everything you say. I'm backing your book. :) Please take a moment to back my TWO Books, ... "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" ... and the UNEDITED version? ... "Tell Me True Love Stories"
Thanks, Susie :)

The relationship between God and the everyday Christian seems to exist between the two ends of the relational spectrum you have drawn. I see real value in what you've written to other Christians who can identify with your struggles. It is well-written and easy to identify with.

A look at Sicilian Shadows would be greatly appreciated.

If you back my work, you may also want to approach BJD (a big supporter of Sicilian Shadows) for a further read and possible backing of your book.

MARRIAGE WITH CHRIST:

John,

You write beautifully, with a smooth flowing prose that is easily accessible and will be enjoyed by everyone who is concerned about the meaning of "true marriage". The verses and passages you quote are wonderful, and greatly enhance the viability of your work.

I wish you every success in securing publication of your book.

Backed.

Without getting to deep into faith, or lack of faith. I'll say that I'm uncomfortable with calling a religious books 'non-fiction'. I think 'religious' covers it and it should be left at that. Assuming that one's faith is correct is fine, and that person's business. Once you try and sell it as fact, then it becomes just that, a sales pitch.
While I disagree with much of the text that I read, I find it well written and interesting and will back it.

Lovely. Very nice description of what is meant by and entailed in the marriage between God and the church. Backed.

Hi,

Is there something wrong with marrying a mere mortal?

My backing and generic comment are an opening gambit. I value honest opinions of my work and want you to feel safe in giving me one. If you want my honest opinion, just ask.

Not at all. Marriage to a 'mere mortal' is a participation in the image and nature of God. I'm definitely not trying to act like physical = bad, spiritual = good. When I refer to "true marriage," I'm talking both about the marriage of God and his people, and the beautiful thing that earthly marriage is.

I'll try to make my summary a little more clear.

Thanks for the comment.
