Lancelot's Lady

Cheryl Kaye Tardif (writing as Cherish D'Angelo)

*PUBLISHED* - Available in ebook and trade paperback editions

When palliative care nurse Rhianna McLeod is given a gift of a dream holiday to the Bahamas from her dying patient, billionaire JT Lance, Rhianna has no idea that her 'holiday' will include being stranded on a private island with Jonathan, an irritating but irresistibly handsome recluse. Or that she'll fall head over heels for the man.

Jonathan isn't happy to discover a drop-dead gorgeous redhead has invaded his island. But his anger soon turns to attraction. After one failed marriage, he has guarded his heart, but Rhianna's sudden appearance makes him yearn to throw caution to the wind.

To live fully in the present, Rhianna must resolve her own murky past, unravel the secret that haunts JT, foil the plans of a sleazy, blackmailing private investigator and help Jonathan find his muse. Only then can Rhianna find the love she's been searching for, and finally become...Lancelot's Lady.

This reads very well since the language is flawless and very artfully crafted...on the other hand, I'm not sure how original the storyline will turn out to be...it reminds me of several Hollywood movies that I may have seen in the past but perhaps that's not a bad thing nowadays!

A curious story which had me hooked from the start. Very well constructed as a story and very well written, too.

Cheryl,

Last year, my wife and I shared three-month, dream-of-a lifetime sabbaticals in a cabin on beautiful Lake Barkley near Cadiz, Kentucky, where she painted and I wrote. We lived without kids, cellphone, TV, and the Internet (no, you romance lovers; I’m not going to take you in that direction, but that fireplace . . .). Well, every day or so we would go into town to visit the diminutive county library and check on our e-mails. Gads, I couldn’t believe the path the ‘patrons’ were beating into the carpet by zinging straight to the romance novels. And I was soo critical. Never once paused to reconsider what might be hidden between covers of the books or in the minds of the readers.

Not any more.

Can’t wait for this to hit the shelves,

Lenard

Dear Cheryl, I love romantic stories - this is the story of my life, but somehow it always turns bad (memoir). You did well in preparing me to read your book by your recap before your story began. It is a good read because you create interest by having short paragraphs & lots of dialogue, which makes me want to keep reading to find out what's going to happen next. I'm "reading/commenting/backing" your book to help it move up on the charts (sending a message doesn't move your book up, but only "comment/backing"). Could you please return the favor by taking a moment to "comment/back" my 2 memoir books to help them move up? "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" & the unedited version? "Tell Me True Love Stories," which at the end of the last chapter tells my illness now & my 6th abusive marriage I'm in. Thanks. :) Love, Susie :)

Beautifully done hook -- now we have to find out what drained her of self-worth, and then how she gets it back. J.T. is a stock character but not a cliche -- his illness gives him the unique status making him a round character. Wonderful description of the fracas between him and the former nurse, and good use of action to propel Rhianna into the midst of the argument and to the inner sanctum of his chambers. Well done. LANCELOT'S LADY
Cheryl Kaye

In the true spirit of old Vaudeville, that says "Leave 'em wanting more!" You exit, stage left, leaving me bereft and eager to get the rest of this story. So I tell myself, I am a writer, I could figure it out. But, no I don't want to do that. Like every reader who loves stories, I want to be entertained. Now, that is why we are here, right? At least I am. Since the days when the elders told their tales around the campfires, we have had a need to be spellbound by a great storyteller. That's you, Cheryl. I aspire to be one as great as you are. I am honored to back your book.

I usually find it difficult to comment on a tale told in part. That is what I feel is of the utmost importance. While I did not see anything at all that needed to be addressed in editing this highly enjoyable piece, you have done your work well when it comes to clarity. However, with this fascinating journey to the Bahamas, you have nicely planted the seed that tells me the growth of this novel will evolve from it's irresistible beginning. It will surely continue with twists and turns that will delight and keep the pages turning.

I love the introduction of the young Misty to your cast. A child is always endearing to those of us who have one. She is very believable and her precocious behavior is understandable. She is a clever addition to provide a link between Rhianna and Johnathan that cannot be so easily put aside by either of them.

I will confess, when I opened this book to read, I rather expected it to be about the Lancelot I know from the Fifth Century. Even though it is not, I am pleased to say I enjoyed it very much. I have not read a novel in the Romance Genre for a long time. It's great to see that they are becoming more interesting with plot that provides mystery, a bit of travelogue, as well as romance. Often history is included as well and all that really makes for a well rounded story. I think there must be many who don't realize how good this kind of book can be.

Thank you for backing my book, A KING IN TIME. I sincerely hope you have a chance to read it. I would love to hear your comments on the story as I know I would value what you have to say. I am especially interested in your impressions of Chapters 23, 37, and the latter half of Chapter 54. I would be most grateful to you for your time.

My best to you.

This has the makings of a well crafted tale with full-bodied characters and the hints of mystery so skilfully woven in. Didn't notice any glaring typos etc. Jim Darcy The Firelord's Crown

Thank you to everyone who has backed Lancelot's Lady! I greatly appreciate it.

To answer Burgio's question: The contest that Lancelot's Lady was entered in was the Next Best Celler contest, sponsored by Dorchester Publishing and hosted on Textnovel.com. My novel was chosen by readers as a semi-finalist.

The contest was called "Next Best Celler" (not "Seller") because Textnovel encourages writers to write via text message or email on their cell phones, though writing on a PC is acceptable too. Readers of works at Textnovel can also read via email, cell phone or PC. The Textnovel site was inspired by the Japanese fad of texting novels, which started over 5 years ago and has resulted in many Japanese bestsellers.

Lancelot's Lady was my debut romantic suspense. I usually write suspense thrillers. I hope you'll support my journey into romance writing. :-)

All the best in success!

Very, very good. love this a lot and this is going to go places. Well written and incredibly enjoyable

best to you

Burgio wrote 786 days ago

This is a good romance novel. First, because you have good characters; a good contrast between Rhiana's life and JT's. Second, because a reader can sense this is going to have a happy feel-good ending. I'm confused about the contest. Was it really Next Best Celler Contest or Next best Seller Contest? Either way, congratulations. You have a good story here. Burgio (Grain of Salt).

I read (and voted for) LANCELOT'S LADY when it was an entry in the Dorchester Next Best Celler Romance Contest on Textnovel.com

I think your Love Stories, Cheryl, are just as great as your thrillers! I suggest readers take a look at CHILDREN OF THE FOG while they're here visiting your Authonomy page. Because...one never knows what may happen in the next 10 (ten) seconds...
