The Gateway

SA Bouzanis

Heaven is full of tyrants and Hell is full of condemned innocents, and one demon seeks to right all the wrongs at once.

I cannot tell my story in 200 words. This is because I have lived for 300 years.

My name is Desiree Demona, and I was born in 1700, the bastard daughter of the Angel of Love. Long story short, my dad screwed up my life, and I was sent to Hell, where I became a Lure. A Lure is a demon whose job is to seduce people over to 'the dark side'. It's a dirty job, but apparently someone needs to do it.

Since angels have never done anything for me except screw up my life and then send me to Hell, I wasn't too keen on the fact that Layla, my best friend and a human, was dating one. He was brainwashed and stupid and irritating...and hopelessly in love with her. I finally broke down to help him become human for her, but now both the angels and the demons are after me for it. Life blows.

I also have a creepy demon stalker, a nightclub opening, and an addiction to ricotta cheesecake to contend with. I do not have the time to be an advocate for love between the worlds!

Wonderful, very urban fantasy and a great addition to the genre. This is one I would buy in a store without hesitation. Powerful descriptions and characters make this piece.

This is an imaginative story. You've obviously spent a lot of time creating this world of demons and angels because you're able to describe it in detail. And those details bring it to life. The same for your characters. They're well fleshed out. Makes this a good read. I’m adding this to my shelf. Burgio (Grain of Salt).

My late teen really enjoyed this and gave it the thumbs up. Do work on your long pitch though. It is too cramped visually. Better to split it into smaller chunks, a double space at the end of a paragraph usually works. Good luck with this anyway, it is deserving of a wider read. Jim Darcy The Firelord's Crown

Wow! You have an incredible imagination and the energy to go along with it! You also have the talent for harnessing it all into the written word! BACKED easily.

Already on 12 shelves and I'll be your first comment. Interesting short pitch. But that long pitch? Well, think less is more in this regard. Don't TELL us how Desiree feels, show us. Also break up that long pitch into smaller paragraphs so it reads faster.

Welcome to this website, your new online addiction. Being Authonomy's #1 commentator and amateur pitch doctor, trust me, spend some time on your pitches; I cannot overemphasize how you need to master this basic sales technique to grab the casual reader. That's how you climb in ranking to gather more exposure and comments to better your novel. SHELVED!

I can use your comments on my book when you get the chance. Cheers!
