The Words That I Speak: Glorifying God Through My Everyday Conversations

Addy Forrest

This book was written for teen girls and addresses sins of the tongue as well as ways to encourage others with our words.

Why should you or I care about what we say? Is it really that big of a deal?

The Bible has a lot to say about words. It tells us that our words carry the power of death and life, that words can hurt like swords and spears and razors, but also that our words can edify, minister grace and bring health.

The Bible also tells us that our words simply reveal what's in our hearts. This book shows how the gospel can transform your words--from the inside out!

Hi Addy!

Since you haven’t been to Authonomy for a while, I hope it’s okay that I’m sending this through your book comment:

I’d like to thank you for backing BRAINRUSH (a Thriller) last year. Because of you it hit the Authonomy Number-1 slot, attracted an agent, and landed a film option. Now that’s a brain-rush! The formal book launch is September 1st and the sequel will be released in December. None of this would have been possible without your help. So, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Sincerely,
Richard Bard, BRAINRUSH

PS. If you want a good laugh, check out the temporary book-trailer video on the BRAINRUSH website. It’s there as a placeholder for the upcoming professional video. The current one features children and it’s guaranteed to make you smile! And yes, the younger kid on the screen is really me. You can see the video at www.RichardBard.com. The link is also on my Authonomy profile page. Special offer for former Authonomy backers between now and the formal launch on Sept 1st: If you would like to receive a “Review” copy of the eBook (plus 2 FREE thrillers from the Kindle Top-20 PAID Bestseller list – yes, really), go to the website, click the “Contact” button, and leave a message that includes your Authonomy username and the secret code words “I Feel the Rush!” Details of this promo will be emailed to you. Thanks!

Great to see encouraging books like this, but I agree with D L Stoup's comment below about boys. All the best with it.

I loved this. You have a good writing style and a good testimony. Best of luck with your future writing and God's blessings. I would appreciate you reading and commenting on December Gold, a Christian historical fiction novel. Again, thank you for sharing this book.

I like the topic of this book, and you have a very easy to read style of writing. I do think it's a shame, however, to state in your short pitch that this is for teen girls. What about the boys? They talk too much too, and could benefit as well. Don't limit your audience by such a large degree. :)

I like that you've taken on this subject and have done it very well, I like the pitch as well, good luck, backed E.Loraine Royal Blood Chronicles book one

This is a well written book on an important subject. Yes, what we say matters. You rightly quote James about the difficulty of controlling the tongue, and I suppose every Christian knows how true this is. You wisely divide your thoughts into a number of chapters, each dealing with particular ways we can use words, and helping us by the questions, to think through what we actually do in each area. I particularly liked the quotation from the psalms, where David says, 'My soul is among lions...men whose teeth are spears and arrows, and whose tongue is a sharp sword.' This is an experience most of us have suffered. An excellent and important book, which will be of great use to everyone who reads it. Backed.

You have a chosen a great topic; nothing destroys the Body faster than gossip. I pray that this will reach far and wide. Good luck in your journey and God Bless.

Welcome, Addy. This is a great place to improve your craft. You know, I would normally complain about these types of pitches that just 'tell'. But you know, both of these actually work for me. For your genre, it fits perfectly. The writing is good so I am SHELVING you.

Though I have been a very active member for over a year, I can still use your comments on my book when you get the chance. Every little bit helps. Cheers!

This book is a step by step guide to better spiritual health through being more careful what words you use. I'm surprised you say in your ptich this is intended for teenage girls as I think it applies to a much wider audience than that; I could use your advice myself. I'm adding this to my shelf. I am a bible teacher and am writing for YA today...I love this book...it flows so easily...it's a quick read...but very relevant and necessary for our youth today. I pray that you will have tremendous success with your career...good luck to you, Jen (Bridges) Backed 100%

Dear Addy, I love that you've laid out that we shall all give account before the Lord for our words. :) God bless you. :) This book (as does the whole Bible) applies to everyone God has chosen. I'm so happy it will be read round the world, as my memoir of 2 books that I'll name below - God will accomplish His purpose in each of our lives. Pleasing God in everything - thought, word, deed in a word LOVE, is where it's at. Your blurb, table of contents, introduction, & conclusion were all good because it encompassed what your book content was. :) The Word of God is quick & powerful & won't return, so your book is a good read because you create interest by having short paragraphs & questions at the end of each chapter for self application, which makes me want to keep reading to find out what you are going to say next. I'm backing/commenting on your book to help it advance. Could you please return the favor by taking a moment to back/comment on my testimon in TWO books, "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" & the unedited version? "Tell Me True Love Stories." Thanks, Susie :)
