The Chakra Diaries

Becca Chopra

Health and happiness, life and death, love and betrayal all collide when ten people examine themselves through the eyes of the chakras.

The Chakra Diaries is a novel collection of stories of interwoven lives, challenges and mine-filled adventures during an inspirational chakra balancing workshop. The women and men in Rebecca's group are seeking to find romance and riches, remove the ghosts of the past, fight depression and even beat death. As she lays out the road map to miracles, Rebecca falls in love with the one person in the workshop that might damn her forever. Laugh, cry and shake your fist in triumph as they reach for their hopes and dreams.

"The cast of Sex and the City takes a Deepak Chopra workshop," or as another reviewer said, "New Age fiction you'll want to read as much for its wisdom as its sensuality."

Hi Becca!

Since you haven’t been to Authonomy for a while, I hope it’s okay that I’m sending this through your book comment:

I’d like to thank you for backing BRAINRUSH (a Thriller) last year. Because of you it hit the Authonomy Number-1 slot, attracted an agent, and landed a film option. Now that’s a brain-rush! The formal book launch is September 1st and the sequel will be released in December. None of this would have been possible without your help. So, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Sincerely,
Richard Bard, BRAINRUSH

PS. If you want a good laugh, check out the temporary book-trailer video on the BRAINRUSH website. It’s there as a placeholder for the upcoming professional video. The current one features children and it’s guaranteed to make you smile! And yes, the younger kid on the screen is really me. You can see the video at www.RichardBard.com. The link is also on my Authonomy profile page. While you’re there, check out the “Feel the Rush” promotion that will get you BRAINRUSH plus 2 FREE thrillers from the Kindle Top-20 PAID Bestseller list – yes, really!

Romance ain't my thing and erotica makes me blush but your writing is great and that's the point of this whole site is it not?

What a wonderful idea for a book. I love the cover art work, which seems very fitting for the theme. I am currently exploring anahata chakra in my yoga classes and I love the philosophy behind the poses and the influences on the body and mind. Liking your natarajasana pose avatar too!

I'm backing the book on the strength of your topic. I think, with good editing, your story could prove popular, a great read and quite timely. Best to you.

Spelling binding. Your characterizations are excellent. Your descriptions are cinematic. For example, your description of Mother Earth. You deepen your narrative with superb similies such as 'like the sweep of a fairy Godmother's wand' and clever metaphors like 'a transport station of hope.' Your dialogue is crisp and relevant. Your pacing held my attention. This is a touching, inspirational drama. Backed.

Beautifully written, very well researched and full of hope for all who need a deeper insight into their psyche, heart and soul.

This could become a very important aid in healing workshops, personal self-healing and self-development. And for those who are simply looking for a fine read-- this it it!

My highest complements.

Backed with the utmost pleasure.

Becca,

First of all, I love Rumi. I use a Rumi in King Solomon's '13'.

Excellent writing. The Chakra education is valuable.
Upbeat tone.
I like it a whole lot.
Clever piece of work.
Good Luck!

Perhaps not my kind of this but you know how to write.

Good luck with this.

Thanks for checking out The Chakra Diaries. I looked at your site and backed your book as it's a totally unique plot and well written. "The chakras" are just a plot device used to tie together the dramas ten different people are facing in their lives. It may be conceived as "Chick Lit," but my co-author and I (we're using the pen name Becca Chopra) is a man and I believe his chapters (take a look at Chapter 3 on Barry), may even intrigue a male reader.

Interesting book. Something different. I'm more interested in the story than the way of thinking, but well portrayed even so.

Great book – fantastic read.

Hi Becca, An assured start and the class is interesting and nicely rendered. Then the background contrasts; it’s exciting and narrated with the emotional points that, after the chakras, alerted me to view such a narration that way. This looks like a fascinating story of personal and spiritual development! Shelved – Katherine (The Swan Bonnet)

Hi Becca
This is a unique idea and although it isn't probably the sort of thing I would buy, I did enjoy reading what I read of this. You manage to teach us something about a new way of thinking whilst at the same time, delivering a clever story with several unique characters. You have a wonderful way with words as well with some great decriptive imagery.

I like the diary format. This is very entertaining and full of some great lines. Just like with Authonomy "my red chakra to run and escape has been replace with a true, steady knowing that I'm right where I should be." Is that really true, I don't know, but it sounds good. I'll be back to read more. I'm happy you uploaded the complete text. Backed for now.

A wonderful narritive voice that has wonderful one liners thrown in for good measure. An intriguing read from the start and one that many a reader will enjoy sinking their teeth into.

A wonderfully written novel worthy of a place on my shelf.

The Chakra Diaries.
The light and airy narrative voice is a relief in literary fiction.
Devices are subtle, and there was no contrivance or artifice I could spot.
Anticipation is adroitly handled, as I am sure is the echo but I would have to read more to confirm it. Characters and events are delicately embroidered in the opening, and there is a promise of much to come.
Despite the title, the writing is accessible despite what lurks under the surface.
Overall, apart from the obvious talent, good craftsmanship and hard work .
The Chakra Diaries deserves serious attention.
Thank you.
Backed.

CHAKRA DIARIES
I knew nothing about chakras until I read this so the book was both a learning experience and an interesting story for me. I think you’ll find an audience for this among people who want to learn more about chakras and those who already know all about them (one way or the other, that’s everyone). The mark of the book is your writing style. It’s clear and interesting and kept me turning pages. I’m adding this to my shelf. Burgio (Grain of Salt).

Your ability to communicate metaphor and spirit, the mundane and miraculous, is really an art you practice well. I am happy to back your book, in a kindrid spirit.

Welcome aboard, Becca. This website will improve your writing craft, if you allow it. I'm a bit of a pitch doctor, having read thousands of pitches in my time on this website, so I want to share my insight here with you. You have to think of your pitches as your sales tool to grab the casual reader's eyes. The short pitch works. For the long pitch, break it down into smaller paragraphs so it reads faster. End it with one succinct question to pique your casual reader's interest. Perfecting your pitches is how you climb in ranking to gather more exposure and comments to better your novel. The writing is good so I am SHELVING you.

Though I have been a very active member for over a year and have the most commented book, I can still use your comments on my book when you get the chance. Every little bit helps. Cheers!

Dear Becca, I love how you shared your feelings - both of my parents & a sister, I watched die with cancer - your heart goes with them, as you helplessly try to encourage & help to no avail. Thanks for sharing with the world. :) Before I began to read your book, I was prepared by your recap/pitch,which was very well done. :) The quote you had before each chapter, I looked forward to. :) Your story is good because you create interest by having short paragraphs & lots of dialogue, which makes me want to keep reading to find out what's going to happen next. I'm "backing" your book: When you back a book, it only improves the ranking of that book, not yours. However, the author whose book you are backing may decide to back your book also, in which case yes, your ranking would be improved...authonomy. :) Please "back" my TWO memoir books, "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" & my completed memoir unedited version? "Tell Me True Love Stories," which tells at the end, my illness now & 6th abusive marriage." Thanks, Susie :)
p.s. Remember: Every time you place a book on your bookshelf, your recommendation pushes the book up the rankings. And while that book sits on your bookshelf, your reputation as a talent spotter increases depending on how well that book performs. :)
