The Maturing Heart

Michael Pearson

True spirituality is not following the latest church fad. It is growing in our love toward an amazing God every day.

I pray this collection of short devotionals will have the eternal benefit of drawing you closer to God. Our journey with God starts in a single moment; with a conviction, a decision, a surrender. But this new, spiritual birth is just the beginning. At its core, Christianity is a relationship with Christ. Our walk with Jesus was always designed to mature over time. Our love for Him should grow as we learn to see Him more clearly and understand His character more fully. Let us always seek His face; spending intimate time with Him. As we live our lives, may we humble ourselves before God daily, and maintain an ever maturing heart of love for Him.

Hello Michael:

As I was reading your devotional, I found that the text delivered on the promises of the pitch. With each chapter I was challenged to a deeper intimacy with Christ. Well done.

Blessings.

Hi Michael, looked at some chapters today, and see that we look at God differently. Nothing wrong with that, but it does not feel right to comment on it .

Hi Michael, I was searching for books on spirituality, like mine ("When fear comes home to Love" and resonated with your title and book. Will look into it as soon as I have the time and urge. Maybe you could look at mine too? 14 years of work - and today, it blossomed :-)

best of luck to you and your journey

I went through several of your chapter devotionals. I found them to be inspirational and beneficial. Have you considered placing an action paragraph or sentence at the end of each devotional as thought starter questions for the reader to think on that wrap up what you said in the devotional? I've done that with several daily periodicals I've written for print. It proved to be very helpful to the reader. Just something to consider. Best of luck. Backed your book. Please take time if you can to read and support December Gold.

I skimmed through a few of your devotions and overall they appear worth taking a closer look. I will be doing one a day and keep your book on my bookshelf throughout this time. If the Holy Spirit prompts me with anything that can help as I read each day I will let you know. Won't you take a look at by book as well. I think this book can benefit from some editing, just to make it tighter. Not thinking this is something you can do (almost impossible to edit one's own stuff). Love the pitch, love the premise, and impressed overall. Something many, many believers need to read. Backed with pleasure.

I hope this book succeeds. I am a Christian (born-again) and I don't see anything about capitalism in the Bible. I think Jesus was a socialist. I think we all should share and give - much more than we do (this includes me). We are our brother's keeper. Blessings, Jayne

Mike: this is Christian so these pitches work. I do apologize for the lack of a proper comment but I am leaving for the weekend and it's late here. Let me know if you want a proper comment upon my return and I will read more as soon as I have a chance. For now, enjoy the BACKING. I can use your comment on my book when you get the chance. Cheers!

Nicely written but not really for me, an unbeliever. You put your case with conviction and write well. That is why I back you. Gordon - The Harpist of Madrid

I think something odd is happening to my authonomy account, where my comments are not showing up. I backed your book a few days ago and just took it down to give another a spin. I have kept it in my watchlist to keep reading, however, but as I was doing so, noticed that the comment I left you here seems to be gone. So, I'll repeat what a good job you've done with this book - just the right tone and the writing is very smooth. It can be hard to strike the right note wtih religious writing, but you've done it in an inspiring way.

Michael,
The Maturing Heart is a precious inspiration. I love the Biblical references throughout. It helps someone who doesn't tend to read the Bible to be drawn into it. So much of the language in the Bible is hard for some people to decipher and it helps to have someone who has a great understanding of it write a book which can serve to highlight spiritual truths found throughout the Holy Scriptures. Backed with pleasure.

MATURING HEART
This is a thought provoking book. A big plus of it is you have a clear writing style which makes this an enjoyable and easy read. I’m sure you’ll find an audience for this among people who are looking to deepen their faith and find helpful guidance in this. I’m adding it to my shelf. If you have a moment, would you look at mine (Grain of Salt)? I’m in 3rd place but only holding on by my teeth. Burgio

This is written with a gentle pen, clear but not too preachy. I especially appreciated when effort was taken not to condemn but to lift up and improve. One of the most memorable lessons for me that my favorite pastor gave our class was about a story in the Bible about a man who was certainly not the most shining example of faith, but he was trying. He took a positive step forward, and for him at that time, it was a good step. This is a sweet book to help those who want to try.

I am sure that you will inspire many with this work. I had to skip between chapters and I didn't find anything related to you being a prison chaplain. That was a shame because I suspect that there are some wonderful stories there too. Paula Barrett (Cuthbert-how mean is my valley)
