Tales of A Failing Father

R.W. Talmage

Tales of A Failing Father details the struggles of a later-in-life dad, whose love for his children shines through despite his many, many shortcomings.

The Tales of A Failing Father Chapters currently posted are just the beginning-much is to come.

Dedicated to my family who has lovingly given me 'carte-blanche' in writing this book.
And to Ellen Spears, who has encouraged my writing, perhaps, more than she will ever know.

Dear R.W., I got so excited when I saw that you backed my memoir book, "Tell Me True Love Stories." I really appreciate it. :) Could you please take a moment to back my other memoir book, "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not?" :) Thank you. :) Love, Susie :) p.s. I'll be the 2nd one to put your book on my watchlist. :)

This is just brilliant writing and a refreshingly different topic. Your honesty makes this an even more appealing read. Agree this is something all father's can identify with on so many levels. Thank you for having the courage to say what we are all thinking! I have 3 kids myself, and am constantly faced with my 'shortcomings' in skills of fatherhood department. Wish you the best of luck with this. Backed.

R.W: do apologize for this spam comment but I did BACK your book. Though my book is currently on the Ed's Desk, I can still use your comments on my book before the end of this month. Thanks - cheers!

What a beautiful, heart-warming story! As a mother of six, I know how mothers care for their children and how difficult the task is to raise well-adjusted, self-reliant young adults. This is a tender look at a father's dedication and involvement in his children's lives. Kudos! Backed with pleasure.

TALES OF A FAILING FATHER
This is an interesting story. I was afraid from the title that it was going to be a sad tale of bad parenting and ungrateful children. So it was a good surprise to reaslize it’s about a regular guy father who dares to voice the fact he’s not superman so finds parenting a hard job. I think you’ll find a wide audience for this among men like myself who also find it much different than “Father Knows Best” who want to follow your journey to see how this has all played out for you. I’m happy to add it to my shelf. If you have a moment, would you look at mine (Grain of Salt)? I’m in 4th place but only holding on by my teeth. Burgio

Dear R.W., I love that you tell of being a dad :) - delightful. :) Would that my dad was even a millionth as good as you (as you'll see in my memoirs of tragedy). You are exemplary in every way. :) I love your poem at the end. :) Thank you for sharing. :) You lightened my heart. :) Your pitch, tight paragraphs, & dialogue all drew me in to keep reading. :) I've backed your book :) - hope you'll take a moment to back my 2 memoir books. :) Thanks. :) Love, Susie :)

This is information from authonomy (so beware of any other untrue information you may receive that is spam & not quotes of authonomy):
"When you back a book, it only improves the ranking of that book, not yours. However, the author whose book you are backing may decide to back your book also, in which case yes, your ranking would be improved"
"Every time you place a book on your bookshelf, your recommendation pushes the book up the rankings. And while that book sits on your bookshelf, your reputation as a talent spotter increases depending on how well that book performs."
