I wish I'd had this when my dog was a puppy.

And for another take on the canine kingdom, please check out my book...

If Carl Hiaasen and The Office had a baby, it might look something like ANIMAL CRACKER.

Can a bunch of smart, sassy women get the goods on their boss at Boston’s venerable Animal Protection Agency? Hal Mason is Brad-Pitt handsome, with a Harvard professor wife and an adorable but shiftless son who wins the heart of Diane Salvi, the organization’s new communications director and the book’s narrator.

The malapropping, narcissistic Hal, famous for his animal-themed ties and jokes, has managed to earn the adulation of the organization’s board of directors and the scorn of his staff. When his negligence leads to the dogshit literally hitting the fan, Diane and her reporter roommate Genie set out to dig up some dirt on him, with a little help from friends in the office.

There's never a bad time for a fun read in which the good guys (or gals) wreak vengeance on a conniving boss who deserves no less.

Thanks for considering ANIMAL CRACKER.

Best,
Andi

5 WORDS YOUR DOG MUST KNOW-Angela Wilcox
hullo Angela, and thanks for your good reminder to all of us who have trained dogs which we allow to slip out of that necessary level of control. As you might see from my bio I have a brother and sister pair of German Shepherds. Hank has been trained at hand but I am working personally with his sister Mischa currently. Thank you for the advice and reminders, just have to translate into german now, ha-ha. very good.Already shelved and backed.
Please take a look at my book if you have not and thanks for that.

Your marketing plan is well thought-out and professional. Your straight forward, easy-to-read writing is perfect for this genre. Having raised two Irish Setters I wholeheartedly agree with your training methods. Your book is a most valuable tool for first time dog owners. Backed with pleasure.

Angela,
You seem to have this set up as a marketing plan to get an agent or publisher. From what I can see, you've done all the right things: established your credentials, identified your market and how you would reach them, and presented a solid sample of the writing--all things I can never be bothered to do, but I believe the agents/publishers love to have done for them (lazy ba*tards). It's hard to evaluate the book itself without the video and photographs, but I think the five key words function as a good focal point. Your explanation of the "Come" command was especially interesting--it's a tough one. My best friend's dogs seem to have him trained and holding the pack position of omega squirt. If this project goes, I'll have to buy him a copy. Good luck with it.

I want to know what the other words are but from your deeply detailed business plan there I can see that there would be no way you'd let those cats out of the bag (excuse the terrible pun).

Clearly written and something that I can get alongside with apart from one thing. I think you can, no, must spend hours and hours with your dog to integrate it into the family. It is not an ornament, security guard or toy.

Well I must say I was certainly interested in your book this morning, after sweeping up a shredded roll of toilet tissue while one of our puppies grabbed my robe with his teeth and held on, so that he was part of the sweeping. I'll be first in line to buy this book but I suppose by then, our new puppies will have shredded our entire house and I won't be able to do anything but cry and clean. Really, well written and organized and NOTE, AUTHORS: I think that your marketing plan could be an outline for book proposals everywhere. I know that I'm going to book mark it for myself. Well done.

FIVE WORDS
This is a helpful book on how to properly train a dog. I like the straight forward manner in which it is written and the optimistic tone it conveys throughout (a reader gains the sense training a dog will be both easy and fun). I would suggest this to any new dog owner. I’m happy to add it to my shelf. If you have a moment, would you look at mine (Grain of Salt)? I’m in 4th place but only holding on by my teeth. Burgio

Get rid of all the marketing rubbish! This is supposed to promote your book to READERS here!!

I'm only backing it because the actual chapters, when I got to them seemed ok.

Believe me, an 'ok' is good.

But no one wants to see your marketing plan on here. Not even an agent.

Get shut of it!

Dear Angela, I love that you have your lists & step by step on how to train a dog. Your pitch is excellent & it's great that you even have pictures (which we can't see on authonomy, though) & a CD. :) Great instructional book with nice tight paragraphs & titles for an easy read. :) I've backed your book :) - hope you'll back my 2 memoir books. :) Thanks. :) Love, Susie :)
