The TimeKeeper: Dawn of Time

Adam J. Marshall

One man develops a revolutionary technology to control Time and rewind the wrongs in his life, but with great power comes even greater enemies.

My book revolves around the control of Time, through a ground-breaking technology called 'The TimeKeeper', and the consequences of wielding this power. The plot develops into a struggle between Daniel, 'The TimeKeeper's' creator, and his mysterious nemesis, Janus, for mastery of 'The TimeKeeper'. Unbeknown to Daniel, Janus, whose dual identity is hinted at and finally revealed at the end of the book, is able to exert a powerful influence over events, acting as both friend and foe. Daniel holds a press conference to launch 'The TimeKeeper' to the wider public with his long-standing friend and colleague Dr. Joseph Finch, who has been heavily involved in the development of 'The TimeKeeper' technology. Things soon take a sinister turn as, shortly after the conference, Daniel learns he has been murdered. Thus begins a series of mysterious, and at times confusing, events as Janus becomes more and more ruthless and determined, as he and his organisation, ‘the Global Initiative’ act in the name of ‘the common cause’. Curiosity about 'The TimeKeeper’s' capabilities lead Daniel to experience the dangerous and damaging potential of his creation, not just for himself but for the future of the world as we know it.

This was a fun thing to read! The time travel idea has been done and done again but you've added something a little extra to this, your writing style, approach and characters make this stand out to me. Everyone at one point has wondered about going back to change things so I think most people would find this interesting. The pace is great, it moves along nicely and kept me involved!

Well written and a great idea. I believe that, even though I don't read much sci.fi. Found it hard to follow the paras. with no indents but managed in the end! Gordon - The Harpist of Madrid

Hi Adam, The outset to this gives it a realistic base, especially with government funding, so that it makes me wonder speculatively instead of launching into a fantasy world. I noticed in the synopsis the sentence "Things take a sinister turn.." I had to read back because the "he" may have referred to Daniel there. The prose has a good flow while the focus on character gives the scene balance for the story. It sounds fascinating in its scientific rendering. Shelved - Katherine (The Swan Bonnet)

right up my street, filled i found with clever metaphors for the human equation and a really clever exploration of the true responsibility of being given literally the power of god, good dialogue and 3 dimensional characters in a really enjoyable story. good luck.

The TimeKeeper: Dawn of Time

Adam J. Marshall

The "timekeeper technology" you refer to here sounds most creative. And yes, it is always about a struggle, isn't it? You set the stage for conflict well - seems like a simple plot, but to me very symbolic. Enjoyed your opening and will "fasten my seatbelt" following captain's announcement when I come back to read more. Good suspense with the headline "Dr. Green, TimeKeeper of Tomorrow" but abstaining from providing further info. Would love to see what that's all about. Reading on as time allows . . . and good luck.

You have written a very interesting storyline and I like your use of foreshadowing in your Prologue. Your character development of Daniel is excellent, the dialogue is crisp and realistic and the pace of your story flows well. This and your descriptive writing makes your fantasy a pleasure to read. Backed.

Dear Adam

Your short pitch took me to your long pitch which is very well crafted and promises an interesting original read. I I am amazed as I see the books on this site, with the minds, and the talent which produce writtings with such skill. How characters can be depicted to vividly using words as colors, and at how a story can be told and it depicts a movie on the mind. I do wish to congratsulate you on your book. I have not read all your writing but I do wish to back this book so it may asssit you

BACKED BY ME FOR SURE.
Please take a moment to look, comment which is important to me, and back my book. if not that is OK also

The VERY best of luck to you

Interesting dialog. I was hoping on a faster pace aster reading the first chapter. Needs more active rather than passive . Look for "was, is" in the story and try to replace them with more lively verbs...

Hi adam, I'm sorry I only had time to read the first two chapters. nice dialogue. I think you could omit the word 'comfortable' as large leather chairs usually are (comfortable) and i wondered about replacing 'was sitting' with the more active verb 'sat'.
'The man had a long forgotte...' also seemed awkward...try, 'A long forgotten cup of black coffee stood on the desk before him....'
The coffee would be cold if it was long forgotten, so no need to write the word 'cold'.
Just a few thoughts -- feel free to ignore, of course.
Backed with pleasure for lots of potential.
Best wishes,
Barry

Dear Adam,
I was very fascinated by your novel The time Keeper: Dawn of Time, oh.... to be able to re-wind time and control life, there is an air of mystique and certainly thought provoking subject you write about. I like your powerful pros, and though I've not read the full story, my mind was blown anway by your strong synopsis.
I have backed your novel and look forward to reading and returning with further comments.

TIMEKEEPER
All of us wish we could control time better – so the idea of creating a time machine gives this book an interesting premise. Daniel is a good main character; he’s likable and has a right to be scared as such strange things are happening around him. Makes following him to see how all of this plays out a good read. I’m happy to add it to my shelf. If you have a moment, would you look at mine (Grain of Salt)? I’m in 3rd place but only holding on by my teeth. Burgio

The layout is a bit dicky, but I coped. The pitch was slightly confusing but I like the idea, sounds intriguing. The start - with the man in the mask is good. I immediately wanted to know what that was all about. 'Timekeeper of tomorrow' - I like that, and it's a theme that I think will draw a lot of people. I'll be reading on as its now way over my bedtime and may comment on further chapters later. Backed.

Many thanks Neville! Comments like that mean a lot! Sorry about the slightly jarry layout folks! It's a pain but I hope it's legible enough for you to read at least!
Have fun reading and as ever, let me know what you think, love or hate!

Dear Adam, I love that I'm not Daniel :) - it would be awful if the future of the world was on my shoulders. :) Your pitch drew me in to read your book & your crisp dialogue & paragraph made me keep reading. :) This reminds me the The Terminator TV Series which was my favorite. :) Hope you'll write a series. :) I've backed your book :) - hope you'll take a moment to back my 2 memoir books. :) Thanks. :) Love, Susie :)

Your book starts off with an excellent prologue which draws the reader into wanting to know more.
The begining of a book makes the difference as to whether it succeeds or fails.
Your book will do very well as regards this and I can see it in book shops.
I certainly back it. SHELVED.
