The 2012 Guide Book or How to Make the End of the World Fun!

Corey Deitz

"The Last Book You'll Ever Need" - a funny book that looks at the ways the world may end on December 21, 2012

If the Mayan Calendar is correct, the world will end on December 21, 2012 and The 2012 Guide Book steps tongue-in-cheek through more end-of-world scenarios than a cult Leader warming up a crowd at an all-you-can-drink Kool-Aid farewell bash. "As you know, I'm a big fan of death and destruction," says the Grim Reaper, "But it's often portrayed so - you know - negatively. The 2012 Guide Book made me laugh so hard, I actually misplaced my scythe while making a few house calls...or 'human foreclosures' as I like to call them." The 2012 Guide Book puts forth a multitude of theories - in a very funny way - as to how the world might "cease to need a lease" on the ominous Mayan due date. "I'm not exactly 'Chicken Little' but after looking into what can go wrong, we'd be lucky if all we had to worry about was the sky actually falling," according to author Corey Deitz. "I like to say it's the last book you'll ever need," he says, "But, then again that just might be a cheap marketing ploy from somebody taking advantage of mass panic."

sounds interesting.....

Either he fell of his stool, or the rest of the calendar was mislaid by the mayan clerk....this will surface due to the capricious nature of archaelogy two days before the End of days...according to the Mayan prediction. This will result in the rapid recall of end of days t shirts and the furious back tracking of TV pundits, who will turn to the power of whiskey to help them though this difficult time!

Love the concept of the guide...very funny and hopefully a little premature....you need time to spend your royalties.

Good luck

Perhaps you would take a glance at Marking Time, also a comedy/satire.

Thanks
Crispy

Just read your chapter on zombies and couldn't help but wonder if Janet Napolitano is a zombie. After last night's Bible reading, she checks a lot of boxes. BTW-Serpent and the Rainbow is one of my favorite movies!

6 stars! I'm a few chapters in and already hooked. This is informative, hysterical, and relevant. I hope you get published soon----before 12/2012! That's your window! Love, love, love. Will highly recommend.

Great sense of humor. I am a big End of Days-er and will immensely enjoy your sarcasm. BTW-2012 is too predictable, it can't be that date. If so, that would mean RUSH, the music group, was right after all of these years! If a chance, check out 33. That's a serious 'end of the world' thing. Dina

I read your author's foreword and skipped straight to the last chapter to see whether you actually manage to keep up the comedy quotient. Answer: yes :)

The bits in between will lighten my evenings in the coming days. Unless, of course, this is an elaborate prank and pages 10 to 110 are in fact blank :P

I think the person chiseling out the Mayan calender just dropped dead and fell off his stool. He really hadn't got time to put the date that the real end of the world was to be, and had only got to Dec. 21st, 2012. After that, every one just assumed that was the day it all ended. If he was writing it down eg: he may have just run out of ink. However - I do like your guide book idea, in at least making the event fun.
This is a wonderful book, and I would back it a zillion times over if I could. Absloutely, bloody marvellous.
Cheers, Eunice - The Temple Dancer.

Funny voice- funny attributions- funny style.

You have an extrememly accessible authorial sound.

There are other things that seem to avoid death: Hugh Hefner? Persistent belief in an "honest" politician? David Hasselhoff's career?

I like the opening paragraph of chapter two: my first thought in the morning normally involves the larynx of next door's cat.

Stonehenge as teeth? Interesting proposition. I do so love it when stereotypes can be given new life.

Excellent and cheering so cheers.

BACKED

You have written a very entertaining and funny book. I do like your choice to use the first person narrative voice. This along with your humourous insights and descriptive writing style makes your work a pleasure to read. Backed.

THE 2012 GUIDE
This is a funny, funny book. The idea of taking the 2012 prophecy and writing a manual so we all can be prepared for it is clever. Your writing style is amusing and easy to follow. I’m happy to add this to my shelf. If you have a moment, would you look at mine (Grain of Salt)? I’m in 3rd place but only holding on by my teeth. Burgio

I'll comment now because I know I can't stop reading this. It's by far the funniest on the site and I'm so sick of the 2012 people (nearly as bad as the Christians). The armadillo as big as the sun reminds me of Spiney Norman, from Monty Python. Please, please somebody, publish this, it's brilliant!

Whitty and made me laugh. Word of warning - not all people's sence of humor is the same. So keep it broad based and varied. This is the sort of book publishers like for Christmas time. BACKED.

Appreciate any comments / backing for my childrens' book ; Paperbats Adventures. Thanks. Jerry -paperbat
