The Deadliest Weapon

Cara Ruegg

Between life and death two worlds collide, two hearts set to match. In a world of chaos, destruction, death there's one weapon nobody would suspect...love.

The A&D (Abnormal and Dangerous) Institution has been witness of many deaths, all of which have not been human but when Avah Montgomery is locked away the question arises: What is she? In a world of chaos and death it is hard to determine who does and who doesn't impose a threat. Andrew Carnely, convinced she is just a girl, takes her into his care and protects her but there is a secret even she doesn't know...a secret that could save the world or destroy it. She is the deadliest weapon. Watch the trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaBkleLpJwA <-- made by the awesome Rosiee :) *****The chapters are scattered because I don't want to give the major idea away. ****

I don't know where to start.....The pitch is so tightly crafted and reads with intrigue and mystery. I read it and thought, 'this is a departure for Cara', but then I read it and the same strong, lyrical style exists, despite the genre change. The lab/institute, experiments and extinguishing of the monsters is almost sci-fi, but Cara-style. That is, I knew what it was like there and what was happening, but not always why. I assume the world has changed and that monsters are widely known and accepted by ordinary people. I didn't always know how they were caught or what they were exactly like, but this did not matter as I was so deeply absorbed with your two main characters. I probably can't explain it, but the way you described Avah when he was near and his almost unhealthy obsession with her was what drove the plot for me and holds the most interest.
I LOVED it.
POST MORE!!!!!!!
I also adore the fact that your tag is 'Cara Ruegg', like that is all you need to know to open the book. Well, for me it is. If I had known it was coming it would have been like queueing for Harry Potter outside the shops at midnight.
Finally, I enjoyed it with a glass of red wine and my itunes in the background whilst I read and Sarah Mclachlan seemed to suit the mood of your book very well.

This is a great story. I'm knew to Authonomy but it is one of the best I've read thus far. Would love to buy it and read what happens. Very well written, very creative and a great story. I feel the emotion of Andrew and the tugging at his conscious. I am also a non-traditional Christian writer. Can you please check out "Breathe for Me". Thanks.

This is a wonderful story- I can't find much to fault with it. Typos are minimal and minor- spacing issues and such. The story hooks interest right away and holds it throughout the story. The only improvement would be to either post more or hurry up and get published so we can read the rest. :) Backed. Desi.

Dear Cara, the reason I was more impressed, was the way you've disengaged yourself, [ the undertone of prose was so poetic ], but If I didn't know you were a poet at heart, I would never have seen it. For me though. I enjoyed, an almost allegory of grief that was gripping, in its own sense. The main character Andrew Carnley, was a future saviour, yet I get this sinister side to him. It electrifies and envelops, the magic of your words. Its what I as a reader, cherish most from the chapter of a great book. The flow of verse that pretends to care, but you can't help but not notice the punctuation. I could have finished the whole book this evening, [ and wanted more ], you have made the transformation quite beautiful. But now you have to search your heat. This is a book that deserves to be backed, by the bravery shown by the writer. Not their usual trend, but nonetheless, a quality piece of writing that is capable of being published. Best wishes and good Cara, I couldn't have been more touched! Take care, until we meet again. Carl. [ Cicuta, Arcane ].

Dear Cara, Well, here I am reading & commenting on your 3rd book. :) It is most intriguing & I really like Avah & really wanted to know everything Andrew is wanting to know :) - now, that's intrigue!! :) Your pitch said we don't get to see the end, so I'll write in my mind they get married & life happily ever after. :) I like this book the best of your 3 :) - totally suspenseful, making me want to read more & more. :) I've backed all 3 of your books :) - could you please take just a moment to back my memoirs book? :) Thank you from the bottom of my heart. :) Love, Susie :)
