The adventures of Cecil Cedric

Jay Womack

An ordinary boy. An ordinary life. No ordinary dinosaur in his backyard.

Cecil Cedric is a young man with a big imagination. When he discovers a giant dinosaur track in his backyard, no one believes him. Constantly on the lookout for the bully who lives next door, Cecil may have just discovered a way to become the new king of the neighborhood.

You have no need to be nervous about posting your work on here. It's very well-written, quirky and with good attention to detail eg the 'row row row your boat' doorbell! You show us the characters' little idiosyncracies eg Cecil and the black squares on Wednesday. The theme is universal and timeless, and should appeal very much to target audience. Wish you all the best with this :)

interesting start to your book

Jay - from the very first paragraph you show a mature and purposeful control of the art of writing, even when you use some tried and true devices such as opening with a statement about the ordinariness of Cedric's home and neighbourhood. Why you would feel anxious about exposing your talent is beyond me.

Congratulations. 5 stars.

Dear Jay, I love their analogy of The Easter Bunny, Santa, & the tooth fairy. :) Your pitch prepared me for your exciting fantasy & I sure wasn't disappointed as I got to chapter 8 :) - amazing :) - and the parents don't have a clue! :) Crisp dialogue & paragraphs made for an enjoyable read, not to mention the dinosaur step. :) I've read, backed, & commented on your book :) - could you please take just a moment to back my memoirs book? :) Thanks so very much. :) Love, Susie :)

"When you back a book, it only improves the ranking of that book, not yours. However, the author whose book you are backing may decide to back your book also, in which case yes, your ranking would be improved, " - authonomy quote. :)

Perhaps the greatest compliment is that I can picture myself reading this aloud. The flow of the dialogue and the exactness of the phrasing creates a novel ideal for the younger age group, with appeal to the older among us. A charming story I am happy to back.

You have written a very interesting and unique storyline, which I do like, and created a most memorable main character in Cecil. The dialogue is realistic and well written and the pace of your story flows well. All of this along with your descriptive writing ensures that your fantasy will appeal to the youth audience. I will back your book in the next couple of days when I free up some space on my book shelf.
