My Marmoirs: The True Story of a Head on a Stick (A Year-Long Journey to Beat Breast Cancer)

Marcie Adams Nolan

At what should have been the happiest time of 32-year-old Marcie's life, the unimaginable happened. Breast Cancer.

It was April 2005 and Marcie was a 32-year-old teacher who was pregnant with her second child. She, her husband Jeff, and their two-year-old daughter Bryn, were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new baby. But suddenly everything changed when Marcie found a large, hard lump in her breast. After undergoing a breast ultrasound, a needle biopsy, and a core biopsy, her surgeon called her with the devastating results: Marcie had breast cancer. What came next was a year of hospitals, tests, surgeries, chemotherapy, and of course, the birth of a second daughter, Dana. “My Marmoirs: The True Story of a Head on a Stick” is Marcie’s first hand account of that unforgettable year. It details the experiences of someone who has had her life turned upside down but refuses to give up. Marcie lets us inside her battle with breast cancer and shows us how she dealt with this intruder with courage, strength, faith, hope, love and a great sense of humour. Her story will make you laugh, cry, and finally cheer for the indomitable spirit that allowed her to look death in the eyes and say, "No! If you want me, you'll have to come and catch me."

Dear Marcie

This is one book that I will be reading, having lost my dad to cancer a month ago, I think I can relate to many aspects of your book. I'm sure it'll be a fantastic read. Please can you support my book The Therions, even if to only put in on your bookshelf for a short time so I can obtain some onstructive criticism. I am a newbie to all this.
Cheers! :)
Well done again on your book.

MY MARMOIRS: THE TRUE STORY OF A HEAD ON A STICK BY MARCIE ADAMS NOLAN

Dear Marcie,
You handled a frightening topic and translated it into meaningful words and in each page, I see intensity, a great amount of feeling and a lot of trust that gets borne into the writer who speaks with honesty and warmth. Indeed, breast cancer is something that worries every woman Marcie and such a book should be welcomed since it deals with a woman's perspectives on dealing with a disease that simply takes away your soul and so much of other things that you want to live for...suddenly goes to pieces just with that one phone call.

I find this a lovely memoir worth telling again and again, a book that will certainly draw comfort to all those who need to be constantly reminded that life is always worth living.

Well done Marcie!

Backed and Shelved with utmost pleasure!

A very serious subject that you've tackled head on in your book. Your writing is faced paced and has a nice flow to it. While the cancer news was certainly devastaing, you handle it with candid observations, and a touch of humour.Goes to show that attitude is everything when dealing with sucha deadly disease. A great read, and a source of inspiration for others! Many stars!
