In the Heart of the Young

S. Joseph Penrod

Summer vacation is a time for teens to party, drive fast cars, cause trouble and come together to rescue a friend.

In the small town of Huntsville Montana, a group of friends are learning about life, love and coming of age. Summer vacation was a time for fast cars, parties and mischief. But when one of them crosses the wrong man, they find themselves thrust into a cruel world, the likes of which they have never known before. Unable to turn to the police or their parents, they must rely on each other to find a way to prevent the death of their friend and the end of their childhoods

Well-written, interesting subject matter. I love coming of age stories...Stand By Me, Rebel Without A Cause etc, and I love a good mystery. No gripes with the MS (what I've read so far) and I am backing because I think this is good work. Now I'm off to read some more :)

You are totally fantastic, Joseph!! :) How can I ever thank you enough for ******-ing & backing my memoirs/testimony book? :) God bless you. :) Love, Susie :) p.s. Every ****** -ing & backing more than 24 hours moves our books up authonomy's lists. :) I want to ask you if you could please keep my book on your bookshelf because I'm #6 on the editor's desk & have to be in the top 5 to be chosen, the end of January :) - I had a mini-stroke Nov. 10 with slurred speech for an hour & numbness of tongue still & over 24 smaller ones where I couldn't speak since & I"d sure like to cross the finish line of the editor's desk after 324 days of trying on authonomy. :) Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me :) - I have lost 3 sisters to strokes & my last sister, Mary had 2 heart attacks this past year.

Dear Joseph, I love the suspense of a group of teen-aged friends during summer vacation having fun, but "when one of them crosses the wrong man, they find themselves thrust into a cruel world...unable to turn to the police or their parents, they must find a way to rely on each other to prevent the death of their friend, as your pitch portrays. :) I've heard a lot about "chicken" in car racing & you told it very well :) - it reminded me of "Footloose" movie with Kevin Bacon. :) It was scary about Randy seeing the white stuff sticking out from under the blanket in the back seat of the jeep & he was totally ingenious to unscrew the tail light bulb so they'd possibly get stopped & caught. :) I laughed when Steve said, "This white stuff that falls out of the sky" :) - that was totally uniques & cute. :) "I know what snow is" was such a good response. :) Steve seemed pretty cool, except the game of "chicken," which scared me, but I was glad that he didn't drink. :) I have read & commented on & gold ******-rated your book. :) Thank you so very much for ******-ing & backing my book :) - could you please keep it on your bookshelf to help me be chosen in the top 5 of the editor's desk January 31? :) Thank you so very much. :) Love, Susie :) p.s. every ******-ing moves our books up authonomy's lists, as does backing more than 24 hours & the longer on our bookshelves, the more they move up :)
p.p.s. TOTALLY COOL BOOK COVER :) - I LOVE THE COLORS, TOO. :)
