ROCKS AND FIELDS

Lorne F. Thompson

This book concerns the knowledge of God for Christian growth.

This book involves the terrain of the knowledge of God (the Bible). In it we trek across its landscape striking rocks that gush with refreshing truth for our thirsty souls and locate fields with heavenly manna for nourishment.

It is a book to relax with for enhancement of spiritual life after a busy day in the workplace, or rushing all day here and there, or a hectic day in doing housework, or experiencing frustration in making house repairs. It is instructive and leads to encouragement.

So find a comfortable spot with your laptop and begin reading.

I love this book! As soon as I came to "concentrated studying of the Bible is therefore indispensable in learning of God ......Christian growth cannot occur without this knowledge.....etc" I was encouraged to keep reading! And I was not disappointed. I love the example of the young man wanting to serve God as a Pastor - it really spoke to me. I also strongly agree about the third element in prayer! However, I think I would add that I don't think it is just saying the words 'In Jesus name' - it has to be reflected in our way of life i.e. we do have to mean what we are saying! But I know from reading your book that you will agree with that!

Thanks for this book. I am off to buy it on Amazon and to take a look at your other kindle books too.

Six stars from me and a backing when I can find room on my shelf!

God Bless you

I would suggest a little more focus in the subject of this book. At first, I thought I was reading about Christian growth, but by the end it was more about how to be a pastor. The introduction, too, contained a variety of thoughts that I had trouble connecting to each other. I think you could leave out the first four paragraphs entirely.

I like the way you back up what you're saying with verses from the Bible, and the personal examples add interest to the information.

Not finished yet, but this read is short and sweet. Need to get the rest. Do you feel the rest will be done soon? It brought me back to the many times I walked the Appalachian Trail and reflected much what you do.

thanks, Backed for sure. Hurry up and finish the rest.
peace,

Hello Lorne:

Wow! You are quite the prolific writer! I am trying to look at all your books, but you are making it quite a challenge for me to keep up!

I appreciate your articulate, well-reasoned writing style. In the popular Christian market, the goal of excellence is too often lost as many writers tend to be content to reach only for the low-hanging fruit on the tree. You clearly strive to reach all people in all walks of life.

Although you explicitly state that your book is written for born-again believers, I am confident that the Holy Spirit can and will use your words to illuminate the truth of the gospel and the Kingdom to those who are not yet believers.

Thank you for sharing your "talent" with the Body and with the world to build His Kingdom.

In Christ,

James Revoir
