Fallen

Anne Neilsen

Raphael had waited too long for his chance at redemption to let this obnoxious woman ruin it. Too bad he actually kind of liked her.

Nearly five hundred years ago, Raphael was banished to spend eternity on earth as a monster. Now his only chance for redemption lies in the hands of a sarcastic young woman named Max and a mission to save the universe from destruction.

Raphael and Max are immediately thrown into a world of religious prophecy and age old wars of good and evil. Pursued by demons and angels alike, the pair have to traverse the world to restore the Pillars of Faith. All the while their pasts unwind around them, sending them deeper into the fight and threatening to tear them apart from within.

A thrilling adventure, Fallen takes the reader on a tour of the world and through the greatest mysteries and magics of religion in a compelling story of action, acceptance, and learning to find faith in what matters the most.

Dear Artie,

This is good stuff, my friend.

Rafael is a fallen angel, a flawed and tormented character looking for redemption – a fact that makes him strongly appealing.
The dialogue is great and the intense narrative creates a dark and brooding atmosphere. The sequences are all masterfully crafted – the alleyway episode, the strange and recurrent nightmare, Rafael’s vampiric cravings and the surprise visitor. With the futuristic settings and a reference to Religious Purge and the Great Holy War, you’ve taken the story to a different level.

Well done.

I’m more than pleased to give it 6 stars and retain it on my WL for further reading.
I’m really keen to find out where it’s headed. But, I’m rather surprised that more people haven't noticed this remarkable book yet.
Are you sure that you’re promoting it enough? Or maybe, your other two books are taking away all the attention?
Whatever the reason, this story deserves to climb the chart fast. Best of luck with it.

You’ll be hearing more from me.

Best regards,
AGC

Hi Artemis
I enjoyed this first chapter - nice pace and flow, nothing clunky slowing me down. Nice hook at the end to see what Raph must do to atone. He seems a good protagonist - a tortured soul who is obviously flawed - perfect.
I will read more of this. Starred and on my watchlist. I found your book because mine also has an angel/demon theme. The Angel Chord - it's a supernatural thriller. Given your own subject matter I'd def repsect any thoughts or opinions you might have on it - if you had time. All the best and good luck with fallen.

Terrific plot! Love the brother thing with Raph being a vampire. Really original and interesting. Great writing!

I've only just finished up to chapter 5 and I'm hooked on your storyline, your characters, and your writing style. From the first chapter, you've developed a healthy setting, main character and an urgency that hooks your reader.
Suggestions to tighten your writing: I encourage you to read this out loud to yourself. You have a few sentences in the second chapter that feel a bit forced. With some editing, you could smooth out the scene in her apartment with the twins.

This is merely a suggestion from a reader's point of view :)

I look forward to reading more of Fallen and wish you all the best in your up and coming writing career.

This book has one of the best opening chapters I have ever read, on Authonomy and elsewhere. Your characters are three dimensional and real and make the reader forget they are reading and feel as if they are standing right there in the moment. I hope this book reaches the top. Excellent work. MJ
