Asumon’s Introduction
At the edge of this universe too extreme for any scientist to ever comprehend, the stars begin to meld with a new kind of realm. In fact they mix like oil and water, and as each puddle of dark matter separates into the unfamiliar, space and the stars seem to fade away. What you’re left with is a dazzling space of golden emptiness, a cosmos of timelessness.
Have you ever wondered, dear humans, what actually dwells beyond your universe? Can you sit there in your minds and imagine space to be a never-ending mass of creation? If you can, then who created it and why? It’s like trying to imagine life before you were born and accepting the fact you were non-existent. The mind can’t come to terms with the emptiness and it naturally spins like a broken compass needle.
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Asumon, and I am a watcher from outside of your universe. There are billions of universes, not just one. I reside outside of them all, just watching and uniting them as a complete one. I am like the white part of a fried egg. I hold and bind the yolks of existence together for all eternity. I am an Inter-dimensional being that does not dwell in your limited timeline. I am, and always will be. I am everywhere and everything. I have been worshipped by thousands of races in your universe, from thousands of planets, and interpreted into how they believe I should be.
I have now sent you into a spiral of confusion by making you aware that there really is an end to your universe. You’re such a fascinating species with so many unique qualities. This is why I’ve picked the humans to communicate with to help me channel my boredom. You see, I’ve decided to take you around on a mental insight beyond your limited way of thinking.
I will tell you a tale of something that might be happening right now. It could also be happening in the past, or even the unforeseen future. On the other hand, it might have never happened at all. I could be making it all up just to give you metaphors to prod at your subconscious mind. It may confuse you at times, but sometimes things in life have to be confusing for you to eventually comprehend.
So, with this in mind, I’ll do my best to keep this nice and simple.
A few million miles back, steering away from the edge of this universe was a dull-looking planet. Now, if Earth was a tennis ball, then this planet would be a football—extremely immense in comparison with your world. It was cold, dark, and from outside looking in, it seemed pretty lifeless. If it wasn’t for the stars, you probably wouldn’t even notice it in space at all.
Now, the reason for this constant night-like state was due to the fact that it had no sun. This of course made the surface cold, but not cold enough to wrap it in ice. Like a natural heating from within, the planet’s core burnt hotter than most, making its atmosphere chilly, but bearable. The only light that graced this world was from the bright stars, and to be fair, even they didn’t help a great deal. They left the inhabitants on the surface with a very dull outlook on life.
Welcome to the planet of Olyssa, home to a miserable race of beings called The Grunts.
At the end of every ninth year, three enormous suns from another solar system always arrived at this dim planet. No one on Olyssa knew how these gigantic suns were attracted there, or for what reason. It had always remained a mystery. They’d position themselves in the planet’s orbit and every part of the bizarre world would be illuminated for one whole year.
This time was known to the locals as The White Light Dawn.
