The Big Bamboo

The Countess

Learning their husbands have been going on dear hunting instead of deer hunting trips, Robin and Carly take a Caribbean hunting trip of their own.

Have Boyd and Walter been searching for dears instead of deer on their so-called hunting expeditions. With visits to places like Las Vegas, running up huge bills for 'special services' while they were supposedly hunting and fishing, Robin and Carly sure think so. Divorce? Maybe…no probably.
With the enormity of their husbands’ numerous infidelities weighing heavily on their minds, Robin and Carly decide to get away…to think and…
After convincing their husbands that they should take separate vacations from the women, Robin and Carly head to the Caribbean Basin. The Dominican Republic is the first stop on their planned Caribbean adventure---the lands of deep blue lagoons, never-ending topless beaches, cool summer breezes and handsome, swarthy men, eager to fulfill their every wish.

A quick comment. I started reading this and found a rather startling contrast. The description of the Jerry Springer show I was immediately 'In' as reader, sitting watching the show with your characters. I had stopped conciously reading and I was 'there' with them.
The rest jerked me about (as reader) and didnt flow because it is too flowery, I think your trying too hard to be too descriptive, too verbose. e.g. why not just say you flicked through the tv channels? instead of the very long winded 'flicking thru the half million tv channels on satellite tv'. These things dont allow the reader to settle 'In' and get comfy. Try the style that you used for the Jerry Springer show and let our imagination do the rest. Whats folgers?
Regards
Al
