A Place Called Perfect

Helena Duggan

Violet Brown is perfectly happy until her Dad, the worlds best optician is picked to investigate a worrying problem in a place called Perfect.

Violet Brown like most ten year olds is perfectly happy. Perfectly happy that is until her Dad, Eugene Brown, the worlds very best optician gets hand picked by Messer’s George and Edward Archer to investigate a worrying problem in their quiet little town. The place is called “Perfect” and it is save for one curious fact. After a short time in the town every sinner loses their sight and would remain blind were it not for the “Archer Brothers Spectacle Makers” and their gold-rimmed glasses. As expected Violet loses her sight but when she hears voices in her head, almost gets expelled from school, her father takes a sudden business trip without uttering a word and her hippy mother turns home maker, she begins to worry. A strange pair of spectacles stuffed in her mattress pulls her into an adventure she never expected. She meets Boy, a "No Mans Lander", has a run in with the Watchers, finds the Reimaginator and discovers "The Ghost Estate". Perfect is not so pristine but can Violet wake its people to this reality in time to save her family.
