The Flagship of Eternal Stupidity

David MacKinnon

“The Flagship of Eternal Stupidity” is the story of downwardly mobile Jake Chandler, a downtown solicitor during the era of the Masters of the Universe.

Jake Chandler has it all: an honours history degree, a Masters from the Sorbonne, a sexy French girlfriend, and a prosperous future as a litigator at an international law firm. There’s just one catch: the firm defends the indefensible – asbestos companies, derelict physicians and corrupt politicians – using every legal trick and subterfuge to ensure the clients walk free while the lives of thousands are ruined. Jake’s stubborn refusal to cooperate earns him a pink slip and a one way ticket to the murky bottom of the social order.

Dear Longfellow,

For me it's true, and that was enough to put it on the page. The best things are organic and subterranean, my pantheon is filled with warped men, but they've done nothing to fix the warp.

Thanks for writing, I appreciate that, unlucky man.

David

I hope that's true David. I want to believe it. Your writing makes the sparks fly!

That really is a brilliant title, and the pitch is intriguing. Putting this on my WL and will be back to it.

I can see why you have Bukowski and Miller in your tag words. Being a fan of both I approached your book with anticipation. But you are neither a Bukowski or a Miller. You are most certainly MacKinnon, and that is n mean feat. I am not sure how much appeal this will have for the other readers on here but I liked it enough to put it on my shelf. Iwish you luck with it and will follow its rise up the charts with interest.

This story isn't for me but that's a brilliant title!

thanks for your comment. This novel is a broadside against the masters of the universe. It's got some rough edges to be sure, but it talks about some rough places. Many thanks.
