My Way

BDC

Hodgepodge

What you will find in my written material has not been edited to correct grammatical, functional and occasional spelling mistakes. I label my magical content My Way because that is exactly what it is; My Way. My signature, personality, thoughts and ideas, are presented in the only way I know and I refuse to change it because it comes from my heart not from an English book, dictionary or thesaurus. It’s hard for me to find a publisher to publish my books because they all want to do them their way and I readily admit that their way may be right but my way is me and that is the way I want it to be. What I have written in my books I have written just for YOU my reader, so please don’t judge me by my use or misuse of grammar and words, judge my books by the intent and the content. I have two great passions that I like to portray with my written word, Happiness and the Rewards Life has to offer. Therefore read what I have written Your Way but keep in mind it is written My Way. Of course we all know if we don't jump through hoops the holder of said hoops will rarely allow us to move through---but having said that the writing is far more important than the publishing. (I have a daughter getting married and I keep reminding her the marriage is more important the wedding.) I think your stream of thought here reflects a livetime of struggle and reflection. This is good and it is an encouragement to all who read.
Shelved,
Thank you Barbara, I’m glad to hear that somebody agrees with me, I was beginning to think that I was the only one sliding down my rain barrel. I think The Sea Pillow will be quite an adventure, as soon as I get further into the story I’ll leave a comment.

Hello,

Good that I read your profile before reading the chapters. You have definitely enjoyed your writing. I see it in your words. Your profile also mentioned something which has been bothering me.

"If an editor / copy writer / publisher mess with your style and your framed sentences then who should take the credit for writing a book. Secondly, and more importantly does it give you the real satisfaction."

Will shelf as soon as I create some space.

My intention is to present my material My Way because that's who I am. It is immaterial whether I'm published or not, I want to be read. You read me or at least took a look at me, that's what counts. Sure it would be nice to be published but I don’t write for the publisher, I write for the reader.

This was rather like stumbling across a diary. Not that I found it uncomfortable to read, but it was all about the writer, and little else.
I thought the piece lacked purpose, and really would benefit from a clearer objective. The work, through a lack of purpose, and more a stream of conciousness, felt like falling around inside a giant pocket, and occasionally colliding with lint.
Still, you clearly write for the joy of it all and you shouldn't give a damn what hack like me says. [ENDQUOTE

I can clearly see why you would look upon my book as a diary, it’s a collection of my thoughts and ideas put into words that reflect my feelings. I know it is not a literary masterpiece, but it’s me, done My Way. I hope you didn’t pick up to much dust on your journey. BDC]

My Way - me again; couldn't resist having a peep at this book too. I skipped around and read the chapter about Pingsi. Touching, and sometimes almost made me feel we were intruding on something too personal, BUT if you choose to share something with the world, that's your choice, and what makes this work is your honesty and authenticity, childlike in the best sense of the word. Whether or not people want to read this, it does offer a freshness and sincerity which people don't always manage to get into their writing, fiction or non-fiction. I think I can learn something by reading what you've written, so thank you for that.
Katie

Pingsy, is a true love affair, I met this lovely lady at my bank and was struck by cupids arrow. They say old men fall for young ladies but it is my belief that old ladies seek the attention of young men. I’m not alone, take a look at the Cougar, she preys on boys younger than her children. Anyway Pingsy was my first attempt to write a short story.

Thank you Dora, Margaret, Elaina, and Sue, You are my kind of people. I’m just a strange old fashion man with an improbable plan. I’m looking for writers who are readers in authonomy land. There are plenty of good writers, are there any good readers?
A reader who critics others is what I call a thought breeder. Let’s analyze the above words and define what I mean to say. Is it true what a reader has to say will improve what you write today? That’s all this old fashion man is earnestly trying to find, someone who will read my stuff being honest, but kind. Tell me are you the one I’m looking for, if not I’ll go look some more. So far____ you have given my hopes a look beyond the horizon.

This is strangely compelling, and I'm still not sure if I am reading the writer's ramblings or the writing of a fabulous character, either way it doesn't matter.
An interesting read.
Shelved for being different.

No apologies are needed for the lack of attention to technical points, if they are there I didn't notice so intent was I to hear what you were saying. I particularly liked the Meditation but I think your best talent lies in your poetry. This is something that should be published as Random Thoughts for Bedtime Reading, there are a lot of reflective statements that are somehow soothing. I enjoyed what I read and am happy to shelve this. Margaret.

BDC, I like your way! Jump, jump around and yet every new thought somehow slots into a randomness that makes a strange kind of sense. Ha, maybe I'm not sane!

BTW. I came across your book searching for a good romance novel.

You remind me of someone I met on holiday two weeks ago. We arrived in Spain a day early, walked into an English Bar and asked if anyone knew of a B&B. within seconds an elderly woman walked over 'You can stay with me, dear.' She had her first stroke the day before her 60th birthday. Her daughter almost dragged her out of the hospital bed (we heard her life story in the matter of hours) refusing to let her mother be a cabbage. She is now 75 doing two cleaning jobs. Her life story was so interesting that I could have written a book, infortunately she would have to use a dictating machine as her hand is still too shaky to write it down.
Why do you remind me of her?
Well, I think you convey a similar message (three chapters) read.
Don't worry about silly things. Do exactly what makes you happy, but also share and try to make others happy. Okay, you don't want anyone to tell you about silly mistakes either. But the most important thing, you are not doing this for financial gain, you are doing it your way.
I'm going to have to stick you on my shelf for the sheer audacity. This is one of those MS where you never know what you are going to find next and willing to support your efforts.
Best
Sue (A Boy Called George)
