Act on CO2 Competition: Terms and Conditions

  • This competition is promoted by HarperCollins Publishers (“HarperCollins”), 77-85 Fulham Palace Road, London, W6 8JB.
  • This promotion is open to everybody except employees of HarperCollins (or their parent, subsidiaries or any affiliated companies) and their immediate families, who are not allowed to enter the competition
  • To enter the competition you need to submit your short story or fairytale of up to 3000 words. The story must help to educate people about climate change and encourage them to take responsibility and reduce their carbon footprint. (“Your Story”) via www.authonomy.com. In submitting Your Story to us, you warrant to us that Your Story does not infringe the rights (including copyright) of any third party and is not otherwise unlawful.
  • 3 entries per person are allowed. Closing date for entries is midnight on 31st January 2010. No entries received after this date will be valid. No purchase is necessary.
  • The prize is the publication of Your Story in a special collection to be published by Act on CO2 and HarperCollins in 2010. The winners will each receive 5 copies of this publication. You agree by entering this competition that in the event of Your Story winning the competition you will assign the copyright to Your Story to Act on CO2 and that the copyright of Your Story will be owned by Act on CO2.
  • The prize is non-transferable and subject to the special collection being published. No royalty or other fee will be payable by HarperCollins or Act on CO2 in respect of the publication of Your Story.
  • No cash alternatives are available.
  • The winners of the competition will be selected by a panel of judges and notified by e-mail.
  • Any application containing incorrect, false or unreadable information will be rejected. Any applications made on behalf of or for another person or multiple entries will not be included in the competition.
  • HarperCollins’ decision as to who has won the competition shall be final
  • To obtain the name of the prize winner after the closing date, please write to Authonomy, c/o HarperCollins Publishers, 77-85 Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith, London, W6 8JB.
  • The entry instructions are part of the Terms and Conditions for this competition.
  • By entering the competition you are agreeing to accept these Terms and Conditions. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions by you will mean that your entry will not be valid, and you will not be allowed to enter this competition.
  • By entering this competition, you are agreeing that if you win your name and image may be used for the purpose of announcing the winner in any related publicity with HarperCollins and Act on CO2, without additional payment or permission.
