As promised, the new authonomy team are getting stuck in and working on improving the site. However, as we make changes and get to grips with everything errors may occur and the site might seem slower than usual.

We really appreciate your patience with this, and we're looking forward to offering a better platform for all your manuscripts as a result.

Here are some tips for how to get around some of the key issues that are arising:

AUTOMATED EMAILS (PASSWORD RESETS and ACTIVATION EMAILS) NOT ARRIVING -
- Firstly, check your spam
- Add authonomy - specifically, authonomy@news.harpercollins.co.uk, as a safe sender
- If you still don't recieve an activation email, try an alternative address. Major providers such as google and hotmail are generally unproblematic. We can update to a prefered email once you're all set up.
- Drop us an email. We'll do all we can to help.

YOUR PASSWORD RESET DOESN'T WORK -
- Take your most recently set password, and remove any spaces (e.g. aaakshj >sdf would be aaakshj>sdf) and try again.

UPLOADING
- Due to the server being slightly slower than normal, we recommend adding up chapters in small batches. Remember, you can update your manuscript at any time. You only need 10,000 words to get the ball rolling.
Automated passwords

UNABLE TO SCROLL ON BOOKS
- Check your browser - at present, google chrome is not supporting the traditional scroll bar on authonomy books. However, if you use your arrow key, you should be able to scroll without issue.

Thanks again for your patience.

Rachel
The authonomy team

Google Chrome doesn't allow any page navigation when I try and move back and forth from the comment box to a novel's text.

That is mentioned above. Use the arrows instead or change browsers.

The arrows work fine until I try and post a comment in the comment box then they're completely unresponsive. And I'm not that keen to change my browser.

Rachel, rather than putting out important and technical information as a thread on the forums which'll just fall off the list like any other, how about having a very specific 'Notices' section to which only the admin can post? This could be provided as a separate link with a number next to it so individual users know there are notices they've not seen. (eg., a '2' would mean that particular user hasn't seen two of the notices).

At the end of each notice there could be a link to a forum thread in which any issues arising are discussed should anyone wish to do so.

I think it's temporary Andrew. Can't you just scroll with your mouse?
