JD Revene recommended this one to me, and when I started reading, I was tempted to write it off as not very much. But I kept reading, and it is much more than it appeared in the early paragraphs. Here is my review: Victoria Hunter, ‘Ramadan Sky’ short, 20,000 words, complete " I began reading this on the recommendation of JD Revene, and at first, thought it not my style at all. I have never liked narratives that jump from 1st person to different first person. But. I liked this, then I liked it a great deal, and finally I see that it is a real and true message of the lives of men and women, and the hypocricy that allows a man to demand a virgin as a wife, but still feels himself free to have sex with another. This is a very good story, and I think it will do very well indeed. Well done, Marj." It was recommended to me, and now I am recommending it to everyone. I think it will be a winner. http://www.authonomy.com/books/39633/ramadan-sky/ (But she needs a better book-cover) Posted: 02/01/2012 23:36:02Last Edit: 02/01/2012 23:37:37 by M. A. McRae.

I second your comments, Marj. I have read this all the way through and atm it's sitting on my shelf. It's also GOOD writing, with no grammatical glitches to jar me. Posted: 03/01/2012 00:55:55

Thanks for your comments on my book Ramadan Sky. I lived in South-east asia for ten years on and off and was intrigued by the way that the ex-pat westerners interacted with the the locals and the vast difference in the rules about sex for men and women. Posted: 03/01/2012 01:19:52

So glad you enjoyed it, Marj; it really is a great read. It was a good read, and a very good expose of the hypocrisy of attitudes, traditions and some cultures. Posted: 03/01/2012 09:53:06

It was a good read, and a very good expose of the hypocrisy of attitudes, traditions and some cultures. Yes, it seemed to me that that was something it had in common with your work. Posted: 03/01/2012 12:50:04

I am happy to say I am hooked. I am reading it s l o w l y to make it last .From the second i got Victoria's invitation I senses a big YES inside - I am so grateful to my inner prompts who knows when to say yes and when no. This was an unconditionally YES. I love the space that opens inside when i read the book. I am THERE. Much more interesting that films - since I am inside the film.Yes, for sure it is a winner! May you write many books love Leelah Posted: 03/01/2012 16:31:50Last Edit: 03/01/2012 16:36:58 by leelah
Yes, it seemed to me that that was something it had in common with your work. There is certainly that same background and attitude, though entirely different in most respects. I guess it's something I feel deeply about. Posted: 03/01/2012 22:44:31Last Edit: 03/01/2012 22:46:36 by M. A. McRae.
