I'm sure this has been addressed before but I'm really curious as to why there isn't a "Western" genre. Historical Fiction covers too much for Westerns to be included. With "minority" genres like Gay and "Chick Lit" (whatever that is) why isn't there one for Westerns? Just curious. Shirley Grace Posted: 18/01/2012 17:41:41

I've not noticed many Westerns so far, though there have been a couple of notable HFs set in America that might have fitted the genre. There tends to be a slightly different set of generes either side of the ocean, with Western and Christian being more established in the US, reflecting different interests and histories. There wasn't originally a Christian genre on the site, but as more 'Christian' books arrived and more people asked, the powers-that-be eventually added that genre. So, drop them an email and ask.
