Commenting chapter by chapter

I'd like to read a chapter, comment, then continue reading and add comments chapter by chapter. At the moment, as soon as you submit a comment, the book you're reading is snatched away from you. Can this be changed? Or is there a way of doing it I haven't worked out?

I'm not sure what you mean. If I comment the page reloads, the book stays where it was (say ch5) but with my comment present and I can then just go on to the next chapter. It could be a difference in browser. However, I find it easier to I write my comments in a wordpad file open alongside the Authonomy window and copy and paste them in when I'm ready.

I prefer to ask the writer to send me some chapters in Word via email and crit them using Track Changes. It's far easier to do in-depth critting that way.

ah, clever stuff. I dont even know how to get to wordpad, Sometimes it comes up inadvertently. Yes it could be my browser [Opera]. I dont want to duck in and out of the book. Even a word file alongside will distract. When I comment and submit, all the chapters disappear except the one I am reading - doesnt this happen to you?

I think I know what you mean, Fran. Once you hit submit you can't get to other chapters.

I keep my comments in a Word doc as I read.

I do the same thing, but instead of Wordpad, I use a regular, old fashioned pad. Like, literally, a notebook. Then I type my comments out in the comment box.

Oops, excuse me for a moment . . . .

Hey, I just got a call from the dark ages and they're wondering why I still use a pen and paper. Cool.

I also keep a "notepad" file open on my computer and jot notes there - then cut and paste it in when I'm done...
