So I've been on here a while now, I'm a reader, I come and go, but there are some writers on this site that I love, they have a unique voice and capture the imagination of the reader from the go.

I'd like to recommend the following reads

1. Deshay of the Woods by Phil Partington - this is a fabulous read for lovers of fantasy, it's a little dark, it's deep, it's not the regular linear story and Phil has an excellent easy style of writing
http://www.authonomy.com/books/36248/deshay-of-the-woods-the-demon-pendant-1-/

2. To Slay a Dragon by J.C Rutledge - this is one of my favourites on this site, I can't believe it's not sub 100 let alone sub 1000! Smooth reading, great story-telling, easy to read but just so fresh it's unreal!

3. Tamria: Book One by James A Gravil - this has risen astronomically over the last month, and again, not hard to see why. The writer has a Gaiman esque way of placing the reader in the middle of the world and guiding you through his story - love it

I'm cheating a bit now, I have 2 books up by the same author - they are so completely different and I'm astounded at her writing ability.

4. Chaeli: Scion of Blood by Kara Thrace - this is dark fantasy, the pace is blistering, the multiple points of view crafted to perfection and the story complex but ... simple? Definitely one to watch

5. Anna by Kara Thrace - the cover caught my attention, I read the first chapter, then the second and before I knew it I'd read it all! This is heavy going, but Kara deals with the grotesque behaviours of an abuser with skill and sensitivity. I'm still a little in awe of this book.

Please everyone, if you get a chance to check out any of these books - you won't regret it.

Definitely back To Slay a Dragon. It's been on my shelf before, and probably will be again!

So you should! I'm very picky: but I love both these books and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Anyone who backs Kara Thrace is on the right path - a most talented and evocative writer. I don’t think she realises just how good she really is - hopefully this will go some way to showing her because she can make it in the big wide world as a writer, I am 100% certain of that
