Okay, Authonomy, what's going wrong here?

It's bad enough that the 'Remember me' box when we log in no longer works and we have to log in every time. But today I got the error page over a half-dozen log-in attempts. A tad offputting. Bad enough having to log in every time as it is without that.

Then there's the posting of messages to the forum that far more often than not now result in the error page.

Something's going on. Care to tell us what it is instead of leaving us to thrash around in blind frustration before giving up?

...

Oh sod it. It's 3.00am UK time and anyone who can answer this is in bed. Oh well, I'll bump it at an unreasonably reasonable hour.

If I can get the damned bump to post of course.

It's driving me insane too. It unlogs me every few minutes, even when I'm active. By the time I finish reading a page, I'm back out. And whatever they're playing at, it isn't stopping the idiot troll guy who posted his diatribe of crap a thousand times in every section.

Gr... Sorry. I'm just grouchy - I cut my finger today, and the left side of the keyboard is anguish.

As I say.. I don't have to leave the site. I don't even have to leave the damn thread. All I have to do is wait about five minutes, and I'm forgotten. Please register or login. AGAIN. Seventeen times since dinner.

Posts are mostly OK if you don't try and 'reply.'

Cass:
Ah, we have a new idiot troll guy then? I missed him. Some bonuses to not being able to get on the site.

Probably not new, probably one of the old idiot troll guys. They're so dull you can identify them as one of the boring old ones through sheer repetition, usually half way through the first sentence of the first post.

A new idiot troll guy would be a blessing by comparison. The old ones just seem intent on boring us to death.

As for the shenanigans with staying logged in in the course of a session, my sessions have been brief of late as I try to post, fail three or four times then give up.

Spilota:
Thanks for the link. This thread's redundant then. We need a separate section for Authonomy-only announcements section we can go to at times like this instead of them trusting to threads amidst the er... common herd...to give us important information which drop out of the top 20 in half an hour so no one knows what's going on.

Writer in Red:
Thanks, yep, perhaps in future they should warn us in advance so we're prepared for possible glitches. Oh, and give us some sort of time frame within which they think it'll be sorted out.

Marge:
Thanks, I'll test that out with this post. If you're reading these words it's a comparatively successful morning on Authonomy. If you're not reading these words, I've gone already.

Things may be improving. I left without logging out and when I returned, the site remembered me and I didn't need to log in. Fingers crossed. Tongue out

See what I said earlier about obsessive returnees.

On some levels I agree with you Floxy, as you know. Only I'm not sure I want to have to agree with you twice a day for the next 100 years.

Couldn't you come here and, I dunno... tapdance or something? Vary it a bit?
