about me

I'm an actor, an ice hockey player, a film editor, and a writer. Lots of plates spinning, crashing down, and bouncing back up with minor cracks and abrasions.

Besides reading and writing, I enjoy watching sports with my hubby (Primarily American Football - GO PACK GO! and Ice Hockey - I am a HUGE Detroit Red Wings fan). We also watch movies and television on a nightly basis.

I will do my best to read personal requests in the order I receive them. I will give honest feedback and "Back" projects I like.

I tend to give lengthy notes, (take a look for yourself to see what kind of feedback I give) which is why it takes me a little longer than some to get through my list. If you do NOT want me to give grammatical notes, please let me know when you request me to read your story.

Please do me the same honor by reading my work and giving honest feedback. Any editorial notes are welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Gwendolyn Garver

Fresh out of rehab, Lea is forced into a life she doesn’t want, but it might be exactly the life she needs.

Lea Granato is sixteen, a recovering drug addict, and an atheist. When her mother sends her to a Catholic, all-girls boarding school 2000 miles from her home in Wisconsin, the last thing Lea expects to find is happiness. Her first day in Maine, she escapes the confines of St. Mary’s and meets three hockey players. Chad is the heartthrob to whom Lea immediately attaches herself. After an argument from a judgmental friend, Lea’s roommate, Izzy, tags along on her second escape to see the boys. Chad’s best friend, Dan, and Izzy might be soul mates, but Izzy’s innocence soon becomes a difficult obstacle for Dan. Through first loves and heartbreak Lea and Izzy learn what a struggle it is to be a teenager. Her new relationships help Lea discover the strength to become a better person than she ever thought possible. Lea makes the decision to change. She gives up smoking, becomes more dedicated to her schoolwork, and discovers a love for acting. She’s finally able to break away from her old life, but can she really leave the “bad girl” behind?

I am sorry it has taken me so long to finally read Chasing Pharaohs. I hope you don’t mind my notes below, if you are already aware of them, my apologies for being redundant. I only hope to be helpful since I know that when I look over my own writing so many times, I see it as it should be written a... view book

Hi Tralisa, I am sorry it took me so long to read your work. I’ve been bogged down with outside activities all while trying to keep up with the promised reads on my list. Because this is poetry, I will only give you my thoughts as I go along, seeing as it doesn’t need to be grammatically correct ... view book

See, I told you I’d read your book soon! I’m sorry it took me so long from the first time you asked me. Congratulations on how high you’ve climbed in the charts! My initial thought as I started reading (which I noticed someone else said as well) was that this is sort of an updated, grittier Blade... view book

Fascinating how many things that we take for granted without really thinking about it! Without language there’d be no religion - without doubt of religion there’d be no science. The human race is pretty amazing when it’s all put into perspective. :) It’s also very interesting to me how all the diffe... view book

Andi, I want to congratulate you on your success of climbing the charts and making the desk! I’m sorry it took me so long to finally read your novel, but I’m happy I got through my other reads and could sit down to give it my full attention. I found it really entertaining! Aside from some grammat... view book
