The Story Of Us

Angi Jones

You will laugh and cry as you share the antics of these 4 women, who are trying to make sense of the nonsense of adulthood.

A fun story, set in South Africa explores the minds and lives of 4 strong women about to celebrate 40 years on planet earth.

Meet Skye, the accomplished writer, wife and mother, with the morals of an alley cat. She knows no limits. And finds her addictive personality getting out of hand. Will she find happiness?

Maxy, hopelessly in love with someone else's husband while trying to piece her life together. Guilty pleasures at someone else's expense? She prays for peace of mind and finds she gets a whole lot more than she bargains for.

And Sabrina, a lost soul, searching for belonging. About to take on life's biggest challenge, alone!

Andy, squeaky clean, with a skeleton or two in her closet, trying desperately to save education in her country.

On this path of joyful discoveries we learn about courage, perseverance and sisterhood. We encounter addiction, obsession, lust, sex and sin. Conception and deception, gratitude, learning and teaching, with tongue in cheek humour to make you smile.

These ladies will make you laugh and cry and maybe let you get lost in their lives for a while.

A story of finding sense in the nonsense of adulthood!

Sunlands

Angi Jones

Set in the 1900's this story is about a young man who leaves his family to begin a new life.

This is the story about the Fourie family, successful ostrich farmers who are forced to sell up and move away from Oudshoorn when the ostrich feather trade declines. They move to the little village of Kirkwood, on the banks of the Sundays River. The story follows the life of Petrus Fourie, the oldest son, who decides to move away from the family and start his own life on his own farm. The trials and tribulations of starting out in the wilderness coupled with the elation of taking a wife and raising a family in the 1900's is shared with the reader. The beginning of citrus farming in this area is portrayed, the depth of family relationships and friendships that span decades as well as racial barriers are explored as people in South Africa look beyond the colour of their skins, into each other's hearts. A historical novel which would be well read on the grass under an orange tree, with a box of chocolates for company.
