about me

I am a 16th generation American mutt and celebrate the Fourth of July as my "ethnic holiday."

After writing computer programs for almost 30 years, I learned a great deal about people. I write for adults, but with the possibility children are listening. I target American citizens aged 25 to 55, since they face the most dangers, pivotal choices, and create the greatest consequences.

Ignore the truth too long and life will flip your world like a pancake. Ignore warnings too often and life will slap you onto a cold, hard pier of reality. Ignore too many battles and life will deem you an irrelevant casualty.

Life is all about choices and circumstances.

Ah, but that is the rub, for tomorrow depends upon today.

I have posted the WITHIN THE MIRROR trilogy. I continue to write and am currently working on a trilogy titled, "A COUNTRY OF THEIR OWN." Besides fiction, I dabble in Bible stories and narrative non-fiction.

A Very Dangerous Magic

Joycia Fireroze

Just when life seems perfect, it explodes into chaos, confusion, and controversy. When trusting yourself seems impossible, who can be trusted?

When those in power orchestrate crimes in secret, it tilts the course of destinies. When a complacent populace ignores events, it hurls them towards a precarious future.

Shadows creep across the kingdom, but Ruark Willowstone and Diza Greenleaf never notice. Far from home, they enjoy new freedoms under clear blue, foreign skies. Both believe life would return to normal once they return home and neither have second thoughts about the several thousand miles through enemy territory they needed to traverse to get there. They assumed their worst troubles are in the past. Assuming is such a harsh teacher.

This third novel in the TRILOGY is complete, although not fully posted yet.

BACKSTORY:
Ruark, Diza and friends are on the run from the law. They are hiding in an old, abandoned temple/cave they found across their nation's northwestern border.

Broken Eagle

Joycia Fireroze

There is powerful magic within everyone. A magic that is not magic, but sure works like real magic, for good--or evil.

Alone and far from home, Ruark Willowstone must somehow fix things. Never mind he cannot gain access to where he needs to go. Never mind he knows no one. Never mind he has no clue how to begin an impossible mission. What he does know is he must start the mission today. Sensing the urgency, efforts seem futile. Distinguishing friend from foe grows increasingly difficult… and dangerous. Unseen forces continue their evil manipulations, which inadvertently flushes out much-needed, real friends. Which is a good thing, since Ruark will need all the help he can muster—for to have any hope of a tomorrow, he must first live through today… if he can.

The WITHIN THE MIRROR epic continues with this completed novel, although not fully uploaded.

Elaina, Your book was next on my list, so here I am :) I scoped things out and caught your recent comment about action frustration. I am not an expert by any means, have no literary training, so I work off experience, instinct, and common sense. So, I began reading with your plea in mind. Esp... view book

Howdy Steven, First, thank you for supporting my book! It's late and I dove into your book anyway. I wanted to escape for a few minutes before sleeping and boy, did you take me somewhere that I want to know more about. Generally speaking, I'm going to toss out my thoughts and you keep whatever... view book

Billy, Ah, here's where you found me ;) Um, uh, I'm a newbie and I forgot to mention the three books are a trilogy. Pesky detail that I added tonight somewhere (I know just enough about authonomy to be thoroughly confused.) And I've written the books to stand on their own, but also without... view book

Rocky, I love this premise and you unfold it by telling it in a delighful style. I hope to buy this off the shelf one day! I like your writing prose, approach and pace, although the shifts were jarring at times, and why I would want to read more with the book in my hand ;) DJ view book
