about me

To Tell a Lie, my latest novel is here. Unfinished, but I know where I'm going with it and it's close.

I'm happy to read books of a similar genre, but am no expert at appraisals - as I am a writer. But I'll try. Like anyone, I'm here to improve, not to rise up the rankings.

Worst book I ever read? The Lost Symbol. He should be ashamed of himself!

To Tell a Lie

Kieron Dowling

After discovering his wife's death had been predicted, Andre heads for a remote Italian village, where the truth may be hidden.

Andre is lost in his grief. His beloved wife has been killed in a freak accident, and it's his fault. After hitting rock bottom, he confides in his father-in-law, who reveals a secret; his daughter's death had been predicted by the mother, after which she vanished. Desperate for the truth, he takes a sketchy map and journeys to Sismano, a remote Italian hamlet. What he finds takes him through a frightening treasure hunt, one that alters his beliefs and reveals a tantalisingly hidden cottage where the lie that was told becomes the stark truth.

Well, you'll be bored shitless with my efforts so it's hardly worth your while to read it. But I'm backing yours because I was entertained. It's a cocky - pun intended - politically incorrect piece of garbage that I'd buy because it put a smile on my face, and it thumbs its nose at all the nanny-cra... view book

Excellent! Good Boy's Own stuff, pretty rare these days. You've got a great voice, and a wonderful sense of place. Backed. view book

Keep at it Owen. This is a fine book. Be careful in your opening, as a keen-eyed editor will accuse you of being purple and florid, a little over descriptive (a luxury afforded only to published authors). This queered the pitch for me in a earlier book until it was pointed out (my description of a v... view book
