about me

Abolutely astonished to announce that Simon's Choice has been picked up by a small press and will be available in paperback towards the end of Summer 2010.

I've learnt an awful lot from my friends on the forums here and hopefully my next novel, 'Management Material', will be be better.

I remain a stressed out housewife with a now 5 month old baby - who would have thought that when I started writing Simon's Choice in the last days of my pregnancy, that I'd see it in print before the year was out?!

Anyway, I'm just here cruising about and visiting the forums. I don't read much anymore but if I actually owe you a read, please do remind me and I'll rectify the situation asap.

Books on here that I like:

Snarl, Pat Black
Sex Stone of Agassia, Richard Maitland
Not a Man, M McRae
Unwise Woman of Fuggis Mire, Morven (published)
Spoilt, Jo Ellis (published)
Dropcloth Angels

favourite books

Anything by David Nobbs, Evelyn Waugh, Daphne Du Maurier, Muriel Spark, Douglas Kennedy, Lionel Shriver, Jilly Cooper - my tastes are varied and eclectic.

To Own a Car

Charlotte Castle

Beware your ambition.

1979, Britain. Margaret Thatcher is the newly elected Prime Minister and the great world-known millionaire and philanthropist, Sir Ernest Craven dies, leaving over twenty-four million pounds to charitable causes. His obituary in The Times pays tribute to his meteoric rise from squalid Edwardian poverty to the chairman of the Tempest Plc luxury car brand, owner of a Formula One racing team and one of the world’s most loved and generous characters. Yet no life is ever quite how it seems. Joining Ernest’s story in 1930, when he was first promoted to a junior management position, we discover how Ernest really rose to fame and fortune, his alliance with Oswald Moseley’s Blackshirts, his corruption at the hands of a colleague and his darker motivation for his later compassion explores how easily a good man can be corrupted and leaves the reader to wonder, can you ever truly make amends for destroying the lives of others?

I thought I'd read this, but it appears not. Well, my backing is probably useful to you at this time, though I've not much of a TSR count I'm afraid. Great pace and a great premise. If you don't make the desk this month, it will be next month, so best of luck. Cx view book

I think what I find particularly brilliant in this is the cockeny dialect of the time. You have it pitch-perfect - I can just hear them on the bus - like an old English film from the time. There's an urban Cider with Rosie feel to this - and I wish you much luck. It should do very well - I hope. ... view book

Hello - sorry I forgot to return your read. There is very little I can say that has not already been said. I really would look at your pitch again - currently it gives us no clue about what the book is about - or rather, what happens. I found it rather off putting. I'm not keen on present tens... view book

Stampman Unsullied Chart Review Bloody Hell I’ve read the first four chapters and have to go out – I’ll be coming back to this for sure. I must first point out, however, that I nearly didn’t read on from your second paragraph. I felt they were both overwritten and whilst they were good meta... view book

Great pitch and I really like the title - I'm here for a Stampman Unsullied Review. I'll come back ina bit when I've read more - first things first though.... serious problems with the formatting on this. Is there anything you can do? You certainly can't submit it to agents in this format.... strang... view book
