about me

HI there:

I have found the time I spent on Authonomy useful and interesting and still visit the forums. However whilst I will clear my backlog of WLed books, I am now unable to commit to an exchange of reads although I will usually respond to a backing with at least looking at your book.

The reason I spend little time here now is that I have taken the plunge and I am a Micro publisher publishing my own books (sorry I don’t have the expertise to publish anyone else's books) as Mercia Books.
See http://www.merciabooks.co.uk

My Books are
The Last Seal: Historical Fantasy set in 1666
http://www.thelastseal.com/
The Amber Treasure: Historical Fiction in Dark Age Northumbria
http://www.theambertreasure.com/
Tomorrow's Guardian: Time Travel adventure for Young teens
http://www.tomorrowsguardian.com/

All three will be listed on Amazon soon and available also at UK Games Expo:
www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk
Also see them at the London Book Fair.

I have a strong interest in historical settings as well as horror and fantasy.

I am also a keen player of board games and other games and run UK Games Expo (the UK's largest mixed format Games convention). I am currently working as a General Practitioner with a North Birmingham practice. I am 42 and am married with two children.

Compelling prose and well written dialogue. The technical details are convincing and the characters believable., Amanda reminds me of my own daughter. Happy to back this. view book

An excellent well written beginning and a clever premise. Something about that Top Gun reference was poignant - the idea of missing something, not knowing what happened in the future etc. Anyway good stuff and worthy of backing. view book

This is very well constructed - an elaborate plot with carefully scripted inter locking story lines.Good luck with it view book

I have to apologise for taking so long to read your book. And I have to say - more fool me for taking so long. For it is indeed excellent. That opening chapter is - I would day- perfectly written and in many ways is chilling - especially when he turns and whispers his threat. I am in pre xmas cra... view book

Got to agree that the first chapter is excellent. Well written with lots of mystery and hints of trouble to come. Then the cocking of the pistol nicely completes it. You just have to read on dont you? Which is how it should be. Happy to shelve on that reading alone. view book
