A family wakes one morning to learn their father is a serial killer. Now they must cope with the horrific news.
James is the eldest of three children. He is a 19 year-old, brilliant young boy with an IQ of 180. His world is turned up side down by the realization that the man he thought was his father does not exist. Each member of the family must deal with this horrific knowledge in their own way. The father's guilt is not in question. The evidence is overwhelming. To avoid the death penalty, the father quickly offers to plead guilty to six unsolved murders bringing the total to thirteen. Friends turn their back on the family, neighbors point an accusatory finger of blame, and the media creates a circus atmosphere that forces the family to go into hiding. Reluctantly, James becomes friends with Mac, the detective who arrested his father. He suddenly finds himself in the middle of the investigation when he discovers evidence that connects his father to several more unsolved murders. He must decide whether to remain silent or come forward knowing to do so will assuredly put his father on death row. James becomes the head of the family and the rock that holds them together.
