about me

I'm not going to bore anyone with an autobiography, I'm married and have three children. I've been in the military now for 23 years. Going back to when I first joined, if you had told me I would still be here I would have told you that you were out of your mind because my high school guidance counselor told me I wasn't fit for military service because I "had a problem with authority". Actually I don't. I just have a problem with incompetence. I write in my spare time because it's free and keeps me occupied. I'm never going win any awards and I only do this because it's fun, it's like watching a movie in my head and I really never know where it's going to go or end up. I don't do outlines, I don't do anything which requires effort so yeah I'm lazy. This is also why I'm a poor editor and proof reader. I don't come up with ideas, they come to me and I just describe what I see. I am interested though in getting other people's opinions. I'm not looking for affirmation, or to boost my self esteem. If I wanted to do that I would just show my work to my friends so they could tell me how great I am. I have other things written and finished but I wanted to put my first on here for now because it's my favorite and just to see what people thought of it. I know it may not be for everyone but to hell with it - neither am I.

I may sound like I'm jumping on a band wagon here but I don't care. I absolutely love the entire Dark Tower Series by Stephen King. Hands down my all time favorite. I also liked "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".

Waking Up

Kevin Savoy

A journey to and from a mental meltdown.

This is the Story of Two friends, Andy and Stu. Andy is on the verge of a breakdown. Stu is his large friend who is not very bright. Throughout most of the story, the two of them sit on Andy's front porch and discuss their views on life in general. Later they take a road trip that involves everything from drive-by shooting of yard gnomes and silhouette people in neighboring yards, to a long ugly drunk and a one-armed hooker in Tijuana. It is dialogue driven and peppered throughout with the colorful and candid language that most guys can relate to when they are just hanging out with their friends.

Growing up, I had a closet stacked full of comics (both Marvel and DC). Consequently, I've been all over the bandwagon of movies along the same line. It's good know that there are also people out there who can write along the same lines (not necessarily super-hero and all, but just people with..."a ... view book

OK, the formatting. I've worked on it. I changed the font and got most of the spacing problems fixed. There's still a few glitches here and there and chapter six still needs to to be done (as far as layout). view book

Yes it is painful to look at, but it matches the point of the guy losing it. If it becomes an issue though, I will fix it. Thanks for the input. view book
