about me

NOTICE: I've been distracted doing other stuff recently, which has left me completely disorganized regarding return reads. If you were someone who I had pledged a read to and I haven't done so yet, please message me. I'm trying to figure out who I need to get to, but your help would make it far more expedient!

I'm 6'1", 182 lbs, and I enjoy long walks on the /b/. I'm a martial artist, a normal artist, a musician, a philosopher, and an amateur scientist. I dance and sing and write and think, perhaps a little too much. I love sanity and humanity, and I truly believe they are compatible with a little bit of work on humanity's part. I'm a skeptic antitheist, a libertarian philanthropist, an asexual and a Humanist.

And I believe I said that last thing twice.

But what is this? eHarmony? I'm not looking for a date; I'm looking for feedback. So stop reading this profile and start reading my work!

Oh. Other stuff.

A. I have no issue with spam promotions. However, they had better be intriguing or entertaining, or I won't bother reading the thing they're promoting. So make sure your spam is actually well-written!

B. I do return reads, and I comment as well (sometimes quite scathingly). I won't return backings unless your book is good and I have a free slot, but I will return your backing with a read. Also, don't expect me to return reads quickly; I'm simultaneously lazy and easily distracted... But I'll get around to them... Probably.

C. There are some things I've done in my book that seem like accidents and are very deliberate. If you comment upon one of those apparent problems, I'll make sure to inform you afterward about my reasons (or at least tell you that I have them).

D. My beard is awesome.

All of them!

Except for Atlas Shrugged. Ayn Rand gives libertarians and atheists a bad name, and that happens to doubly affect me.

Oh, and the Twilight Saga... But who wouldn't expect that?

Arm of Gedden: The Last Prophe....

Grant Amadeus

A narcoleptic Hawaiian monk must save the world with the help of fallen angels and an irritable Seraph.

It's 4024 A.D. and the world is about to go to Hell. Literally.

A young Hawaiian monk, Hanau, is content to enjoy his seafood, chores, and frequent naps. However, forces have conspired to completely ruin his good time. For unknown reasons, the Lord Gedden and his Seraphim have designated Hanau as the lynchpin in their final gambit to save existence. Seven Seals, created in a lost past, are preventing Heaven's warriors from intervening on the Earthen plane, and in the short span of four human years, Satanael will break free from his icy bonds with only one thought on his mind: revenge.

Assisted by the Archangel of Balance and seven fallen Tarshishim, Hanau leaves his monastery in search of the elusive Seals, combating men and demons, fleeing from the Antichrist, and falling asleep at very inopportune times. Of course, he has little time to waste. If he cannot find and destroy the Seals, then the legions of Hell will surely prevail.

The manuscript you see is fully completed, save for whatever minor edits I throw in here and there. Actually, I've finished half of the five-book series. So yeah.

So I guess this is a comment? I mean, I already actually read some of it (and backed it), but yeah. I guess my one criticism would be that the prose is a bit overbearing at times... That being said, that stuff disappears quickly with personal and professional editing, and it isn't really affectin... view book

Read returned, along with a quick comment. I hope you don't take this too harshly (there's no particularly nice way to phrase criticisms, after all), but you need to do quite a bit of work on your technical writing. There are too many things either inefficient or awkward with it for me to enumera... view book

FINALLY I get a return read... I have nothing much to say in the way of punctuation or prose; it's all well-structured and I don't see any big hang-ups. I do want to make the note that "Because it's getting stronger" is a dangling modifier. Is the OCEAN getting stronger? Or her love of it? Or her... view book

Okay, then! Return read time! So... First thing I imagine during that introduction is Chuck Palahnuik. I'm not getting as much of that vibe during the actual reading (at least not yet, as I was expecting some Minor picky edits: Remove the 'for fear of turning into stone' part. Anyone w... view book

Good show, sir. Good show. When I want to criticize someone, I damn well do it, and I take my time making it very specific. I don't want to criticize you because I don't need to criticize you. You had me reading every word (when I usually speedread instead), chuckling at the dialogue in a morbid ... view book
