about me

I've loved writing since I was a kid when a teacher commented to my parents that I had promise but also that I was a little bit morbid as all my stories involved the protagonists dying at the end!

Hopefully I've got a little more sophisticated since those early beginnings. Nevertheless I'm still fascinated by young adult fiction and its endless possibilities - a world where people are discovering life and love for the very first time and anything can happen.

I have finished my first young adult novel "The Frankenhunk Experiment" and uploaded it to the site. Whilst that has been "resting" in my drawer I've done an outline of a second novel (Lottie Stamper and the Endless Possibilities) which I am starting to flesh out.

But who am I to pass comment on others work? An avid reader with bookshelves full of books and a Kindle stuffed full of every genre of novel. An English literature graduate who has read and studied a wide range of literature. A person who is willing to help a community on the basis that the community will return the favour when the time is right!

Kelly I really enjoyed the first three chapters that I read and would definitely like to read on when I find the time. Stevie is a likeable heroine that doesn't dwell too much on past ills but moves forward at every step. Jamie and Justin sound nice although two small criticisms here i) describe ... view book

YARG REVIEW Overall I liked this, I thought that it was very fast paced and I did want to read on past the first chapter! What follows is the jottings and first reactions I had as I read your chapters: SP – snappy and showcases an interesting idea LP – Is “beam me up Scotty” appropriate for... view book

YARG REVIEW COVER ART – don’t usually comment on this but loved the literalness of the running silhouette against the clock face. This is the kind of thing that would catch my eye on the shelf. SP – really snappy. The one issue I had was with the semi colon followed by “kept”. This could perha... view book

YARG review SP – loved it. Snappy and offers up some tantalising titbits. LP – Just right. I thought the references to stroppy Sophie and pouty Felicity were a nice hint at the changes in relationships with women his adolescence will bring. CH1 – The relationship between Daniel and Sophie f... view book

SP – intriguing. LP – “Full moon brings with it, grisly murders” – I don’t think you need the comma and this almost needs a “the” in front of it – “The onset of the full moon brings with it grisly murders” or similar. CH1 - A chilling start. I loved the juxtaposition of the neatly manicured wa... view book
