Just a few comments. You don't need a forward. That isn't done in kid's books. Also, you might have better luck changing your format. Short story collections are pretty well unheard of in kid's books unless you are a household name. Doesn't mean it won't happen, just really unlikely. Your wr... view book

You've got some great stuff here. Nice turns of phrase and a vivid main character. Your shifting POV didn't work for me, though. I'd just get into the flow and then felt jerked out.
