about me

Married with 2 grown-up children and now 2 grand-children. Roots in the UK but 15 years in Canada (Ontario) and loved it. Now all the family spend most of the time afloat, we live on a boat pretty much full time, in the Caribbean or Europe. Because of that internet access is a bit 'here and there' so don't expect speedy replies to messages!
'Tambow' has now been published,, ISBN number 978-1-84897-079-3, along with the sequel, 'Tambow's Wombatical Wanderings', ISBN number 978-1-84897-080-9.
Both books are available from the publishers, www.olympiapublishers.com, or from amazon co.uk, or amazon.com
A third book in the series is well underway and should be available here soon.
Check out Tambow's website for the latest wombat updates!

TAMBOW

Charles Lamb

Tambow is a young wombat, irrepressible and full of bounce. Escaping from a circus, he starts a hilarious, sometimes scary, quest to get home.

Imagine . Two wombats kept as curiosities in a travelling circus in the early 1900s, in rural England. One captured in Australia and brought to England by sea, the other her young son, Tambow, born in captivity.

Tambow is irrepressible, full of bounce and lovable charm, and one day when the circus is travelling to a new venue, an accident occurs ……………

“Look, look, look!” shrieked Tambow excitedly, pointing to the end of the cage. “I broke the bars as well, wasn’t that good, didn’t I do well?” He wasn’t going to be put off by explanations of broken wheels.
Sure enough, some of the bars at the end of the cage had bent and jumped out of place, leaving a gap just big enough for a wombat to get through. Beyond, the moor and freedom beckoned............................

Seizing the opportunity, the two wombats are launched on a story full of humour and excitement, danger and dark moments, as they escape from the circus and follow their adventurous quest to return to their homeland.

'TAMBOW' is the first book of a series.

It is now published, ISBN number 978-1-84897-079-3, available from www.olympiapublishers.com or amazon.

A seemingly gentle story, interwoven with violence and written so fluidly that it just carried me along. Much enjoyed the first 3 chapters. Hope my next arrival at Angra de Heroismo is not so dramatic! Shelved with pleasure Charles Tambow view book

I galloped through 3 chapters which kept my interest, and enjoyed the writing and story so far. Not far enough into it yet to be totally 'gripped', but am confidant i would be if I had time to read more! Backed and good luck Charles Tambow view book

This got me from the getgo, had to with the Bud hating bit. You must know the one about the American asking for the nearest thing to a Bud in a British pub, and got given a glass of water. Anyway after that it just got better. Backed and on the shelf Charles Tambow view book

Hi Patrick, It took a bit to get into the story but once there I enjoyed it. I think the main problem was the font you uploaded, not easy on the eyes, not mine anyway. You might want to think about another font, something that doesn't look like old typescript. Also, a minor point, but the long pit... view book
