about me

I am sorry to disappoint.

However...

I have been busy, and probably will not be able to support very many people for a while.

I don't know what makes me more likely to want to back you. So don't ask. Although... it does make me happy when I see my friends' works doing well. (Hint: That would be Raven Clark and Kevin Wong, but since Kevin Wong is doing phenomenally elsewhere and is likely to get himself an editor's review by the end of the month anyway, I'm most interested in seeing Raven's SHADOWSWORD SAGA go up. If it doesn't, I will be increasingly convinced that Authonomy is really about advertising, not good writing.)

I'm not saying any of the writing here which has done well isn't good, or that what I've just encouraged you to take a look at is perfect. I'm just saying, I wish we could improve this system.

One day, I will post something here too, and maybe I'll join the advertising antics. But... that doesn't mean I like it now. In fact, I don't, so you're probably wasting your time asking when I'm too busy to really read anything. (Of course, there are those who slip through the cracks. Again, I don't know how; don't ask me! I think that's a bit like how the publishing world works...)

Good luck to you!

-------

P.S. You'll probably find that luck elsewhere, for now.

P.P.S. To those authors who I've said I will or might support: this profile message change doesn't change anything I've told you. I still like to help good people, although those good people must be very patient with me until I -- *cough* -- find time. I just don't like people hawking their wares with superior attitudes.

Since you seem to enjoy reading my various (mostly faulty) hypotheses pertaining to your book, here are a few more: ??? -Helena's mother is a descendant of Ninthar and somehow part Children of the Dragon... -Lancemar actually IS Helena's father -Kyas and Lancemar have some sort of relationship... view book

I know it is your policy to read my work first if you've approached me for a swap, but I figured you wouldn't mind if I went first ;-) I've only been able to read the first part, but I do like it. Remind me in a few months to come back to it, perhaps? That is, if you are interested in more feedba... view book

Maybe my opinion isn't valid, since I've been away from the work for so long, but I'd say the 10th part is the best yet. I like Lancemar more than ever, (and is he not Helena's father, then? If not, it is even more amazing that he can be so kind even for her mother's sake). You might want to cons... view book

I like the way you repeat "Take him home and enjoy him" in the beginning; it seems to keep the pace of the story going in the absence of dialogue. The way the sections are divided and the short sentences all punctuate the immediacy of the situation well. The voice of the narrator comes through prett... view book

Once again, I've read on (completed part 9) rather than do my homework... I really like the interaction between Helena and her father. The way that the father is always named (Lancemar) seems to suggest that they have a more balanced kind of relationship; although he is the parent, he clearly doe... view book
