about me

Hi, I'm Babs

I love a good story, the more twists and turns and the dafter the plot, the better. Particularly enjoy crime, thrillers and historical fiction but basically will read anything if it catches my eye.

A big THANK YOU to all the generous, knowledgeable folk on here who have spent time reviewing and providing constructive feedback. As a result :-

MRS JONES is now published by Night Publishing and is available on Amazon Kindle (paperback available soon) If you enjoyed reading Mrs Jones on Autho, then please pop onto Amazon and pick up your very own copy!

MOLLY BROWN the next book to feature Tommy Connell, will be published during 2012.

WILDEWOOD is something completely different. A historical romance with a twist. It won the monthly poll on Night Reading and will also be published by Night Publishing during 2012.

As a result I've taken down my books for final editing.

Anyone who wants a sneak preview of my latest thriller's WHAT GOES AROUND & MILLER TIME should pop over to Night Reading to catch the first chapter's...and the fab covers!

I don't visit often now, so my shelf doesn't change very often, but if you do end up there, it'll be because I rate your book highly and think it deserves a chance.

KC your HFG review Love the cover and the pitch promises intrigue and adventure alongside a love story which I suspect has a few hurdles to cross. Just my cup of tea. I read to the end of chapter 9 and will pop back later for more - You provide us with a beautiful first image of the valley... view book

Nathan, I get the cover, very clever and the pitch is intriguing. Okay, so I'm glad I don't live in Birkenhead...don't reckon you'll sell many books there. You present the image of Gary cornered on the platform, very well. Excellent dialogue and the way he attempts to edge away, physically and em... view book

Melanie, Your HFC review. part 1 I like the title, not only does it cleverly represent folks who are brought up in wrong "nests" it's memorable...good. Sorry, but I didn't quite get the cover...too red and apart from the significance of the joined hands in the romance aspect, I didn't see the lin... view book

Ashley, I like the cover, eye catching and very appealing to your target group. Short pitch is good and punchy, the long pitch dawdles a little...how about..."Maddy's never heard of the witching world until told the magic's disappeared and she's the only to bring it back. A victim of bullies, Maddy... view book

Tony, Returning your read. I read to the end of ch3. You set the scene for a quirky tale where the main characters Jesse and Katie both have rather "alternative" lives. The story of the cat, while given huge importance in chapter one, seemed to fizzle out by the end without any real conclusion, so... view book
