about me

I am a twenty six year old Drama graduate living in London. I first had a desire to write in my early teens and found a means of expression through poetry.

First writing, then reading and discovering new writers, the dark and Gothic works of Edgar Allen Poe, the lighter side of Yeats. As my passion grew, so did my curiosity, I started to read the classics, War of The Worlds, 1984, Animal Farm, Moby Dick, To Kill A Mockingbird.

I soon developed a taste for the darker side of literature in horror, where I discovered Lovecraft, Barker, and King who fast became my role model as a writer.

Since beginning this journey, I have read many novels, ranging from comedy and crime to horror and I have never read anything that gave my quite as much pleasure as the writings of Stephen King.

In November 2006 I began work on my first novel. A piece of crime fiction. It is a film noire style story about a mans revenge against a powerful crime lord. I have continued to work and develop the story and characters, working towards its completion, but needless to say I have yet to secure an agent.

I enjoy writing short stories, I feel that whether I am fortunate enough to meet with success or fail to attain a single publication, I will always write for the joy of it.

I currently work as an associate editor for the US horror fiction quarterly Dark Moon Digest. I read and review short stories, submit film reviews and on occasion, if requested by the editor, have provided editorial assistance.

Times are as difficult as ever for a writer. Perhaps some say it is easier for new writers, with so many opportunities and the ease of communication through the internet, but we shall see.

No Exit

Rory Warwick

A collection of short short stories ranging from the horror of fantasy to the terrors of reality.

No Exit is a collection of 13 short horror stories. Drawing from experience as an associate editor for a US horror fiction quarterly magazine, I have seen some vile things. Frustrated with unanswered cries in the dark, I have compiled my own collection of short horror stories. Ranging from evil childhood fantasies, to morbid scientific truths to harsh and violent realities, this selection of horror stories contains enough vile displeasure to send a judder down even the most stale of spines.

Hello, I have to say that from what I have read so far, the story is really gripping and original and it flows fast and it is very easy to read, however I do feel sometimes that the descriptive style is a little too much and I have trouble understanding what is happening. I hope you understan... view book

This writing is really gripping. I am reading whilst at work and thought that I would glance over every now and then so I don't get caught, but I keep finding my eyes glued to the screen, I don't want to tear myself away. The descriptive style is really vivid and the characters are really real, they... view book
