about me

I am not a writer, nor do I want to be. However, I love reading and have been delighted to discover Authonomy where I can read the beginnings of some excellent new novels by truly gifted young writers.

favourite books

Susan Hill - 'Strange Meeting'
Penelope Lively - 'The Road to Lichfield'
Margaret Forster - 'Mother Can You Hear Me?'
Libby Purves - 'Holy Smoke'
Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows - 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society'

I absolutely loved this book. Julia Edwards creates completely convincing and recognizable characters that gripped my attention from the beginning. Her settings in each chapter are beautifully described; the childhood holidays in the New Forest that Daniel shared with Hetty, the unbearable anguis... view book
