about me

I write for a living – I've written screenplays, I'm working on a PhD in eighteenth-century fiction and my first novel 'Mr Rosenblum's List' is being published by Sceptre (Hodder) in the UK in April 2010 and Little, Brown in the US on June 21st.

I keep a blog about my experiences as a first time novelist and the publishing process at: natashasolomons.com

I'm happy to answer any questions over at my blog or on the forum if you leave me a message on my authonomy page.

favourite books

Jane Austen – everything from the novels to the juvenilia and letters. 'A Simple Story' by Elizabeth Inchbald - fantastic eighteenth-century romance/ adventure yarn. Samuel Richardson's 'Pamela'.

Micheal Chabon 'The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay','To Kill a Mockingbird' by Harper Lee, John Steinbeck 'Grapes of Wrath', Nathan Englander 'The Ministry of Special Cases' - if you haven't read him yet, you must!
'Fup' by Jim Dodge. 'Sophie's Choice' by William Styron.
