about me

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, now residing in Pensacola, Florida. Married for 35 years and have two grown children. I recently retired.

Played organ and guitar in a rock and roll band, with the group recording two records on the RCA and Mr. G. record labels. Have written quite a number of songs and still writing them. Just completed my first book - a children's fantasy adventure that is based upon one of the songs I wrote in 2009. I included the words to the song in the comment section if you want a quick summary of the story.

Based on the feedback I have received, it is a fun read - even for an adult. To get the flavor of the book, take a look at chapter 12. The queen of Mars had given Billy a magic hat that is now his means of transportation, tour guide, interpreter and more. I think you'll find that if you have kids or grandkids, you would enjoy reading this to them or giving it as a gift if they are a young adult. The book has been revised and new chapters added at the beginning, but not updated here. It will be published in the near future.

favourite books

Just about anything written by Robert Ludlum. As for others, loved The Hunt For Red October, Timeline, Ronald Reagan's Diary, Do The Right Thing, A Brief History of Time, The Bible.
As a young reader, I read every Hardy Boys book that was published.

NOW GET THIS! Read Street Smart Dating on this web site. It is one of the funniest books you will ever read. This is a totally independent suggestion, as I have no connection whatsoever with the author, but he needs to be published. I would buy this book as a gift for all my friends.

THE ADVENTURES OF BILLY BUTLER....

David Goodenough

Billy dreams he went to Mars and met a magical Queen of Mars. He discovers interesting and entertaining creatures with many surprises in the story.

Billy enters a parade bicycle-decorating contest with a spaceship-to-Mars theme. That night when he falls asleep he envisions he was picked to go to Mars in place of an astronaut . . . but via his bike! Once there, he meets a beautiful young queen who gives him a magical talking hat that becomes his companion on journeys. He visits a zoo that has strange and wonderfully-entertaining creatures. Upon returning to see the queen, she magically transforms the hat into a very unique spaceship to get Billy home.

Back home, Billy wakes up and thinks his trip to Mars was just a dream. Billy wins the bicycle-decorating contest and is given the honor of being the king of the parade. When he meets the queen of the parade, she looks identical to the Queen of Mars. He now wonders whether his dream was real!

Except for the first chapter of the book, each chapter ends with a surprise cliff hanger. The final surprising line in this enticing children’s book leaves the reader wondering whether Billy’s dream was real, too!

I laughed so hard that my ass fell off when I farted! And that was just after only reading chapter 1. I had to glue my ass back on so I could sit down and read the rest. Then I laughed so hard that my beer was spilling out of my nose, so I had to switch to milk, as I hate to waste beer. Tears of... view book

Thanks very much for giving my story a close eye! As it turns out, this week I received all the corrections I need to make from a friend who is a professional proof reader. There are a number of corrections, including the ones in your comments. I'm hoping to get those correctons done this weekend... view book

That's quite a story you have there, Tom. I had fun skimming through various chapters. Everything "clicks" in terms of consistency and authenticity in the dialogue. I think the most fun is when Stephen is dating the girls - excellent dialogue! I was also relieved that he got his bike back when i... view book

Very, very cool! In fact, outstanding! I'm putting this on my watchlist so I can back it as soon as a couple obligations are cleared. Meanwhile, I'm going to ask my friend Kristi to back your book. I'm sure she wil like it. Dave Goodenough view book
