I am 23 years old. I come from a large family and have been writing stories since I could pick up a pencil. Coming from a large family with eleven siblings helped me creatively. However, terrible circumstances in my life made me write my first novel, "A New Beginning" where I used fiction based characters to channel my feelings and experiences.
Currently I am working on a series based in my hometown, Rosedale, during the early 1900s. The first book surrounds a smallpox epidemic that wiped through the Fraser Valley.

Synopsis:

Dr. Caleb Brooks lives near Beckenham, England and works part time at the Bethlem Psychiatry Ward to gain hours and experience along with his regular shift as doctor to families nearby. There he meets a young female patient who was put in the hospital by her brother just to keep her from interrupting his criminal liaisons. Caleb takes her on as his ward but his mother, Lady Gladys Brooks, demands that they marry so as to save the family and girl’s reputation. However, on the day of the banquet, her brother comes and takes her away, but not before beating up Caleb. Caleb searches everywhere but it is to no avail. In a depressed state, he receives a letter from his uncle in BC who needs help with his medical practice.
On the journey to Rosedale, Caleb adopts a stowaway child and things seem to get better for him. Unfortunately, when he arrives he is suddenly thrown into the midst of a raging smallpox virus that is spreading far and wide over the Fraser Valley. While battling the disease with Nurse Annabelle Huntington at his side, he is able to control the disease and transport the patients to a secure location in Chilliwack. As they work together, Belle and Caleb start to have feelings for one another and he proposes to her. But, she tells him that she needs to be courted before she can even think about marrying him. A few weeks later a woman arrives by train and it is soon realized that she is Camille Badeau, Caleb’s betrothed. She had escaped the clutches of her brother and traveled across the ocean to meet him. Caleb now has a choice to make, should he stay with Caleb, or break his promise and continue courting Annabelle? Though times are tough and danger is continually surrounding them, will they be able to pull together and find their true paths?
